fantastic quality, but i recommend the samsung video camcorder, it has about the quality of a windows vista webcam in the dark, and during the day it has the qualty of a mac webcam. it lasts like 2 days.

I own this and apart from the rotating camera I hate it, battery doesnt last long, it looks ugly and its rabish at closeups and always carry the usb cable, I then bought the brilliant kodak zi8 and I am speechless since then.

I think there is a stupid error in the manual,page 30 about the battery indicator. It shows in the manual as a blackbar when battery full,infact its opposite on mine at least, white battery fully charged.!!!

I returned my 1st camera, thinking there was a fault, the 2nd did the same.

What a sony cockup!

O.K. Can any one tell me why i can not take pictures in the the dark.Dont tell me that another genious engineer forgot to put a flash on the damn thing.If so he or she should find another field of work.

There is no flash. Something that has been standard on digital cameras for a long time. Who's the genius who decided to exclude it from this one?

There is a low light setting for taking pictures in low light but I think the shutter speed is longer for that because every pic I've taken in low light comes out very blurry.

@OMFGitsJon - I've noticed when playing back footage, the sound noticeably picks up speed for approx 2 seconds just after zooming, before reverting to normal playback speed. This is particularly irritating if recording music (i.e. concerts/gigs) where the effect is most noticeable. Accordingly I now try to pre-set the zoom setting before filming gigs, or minimize zooming (though I'm considering trading my Sony Mobile HD Snap in for a Panasonic Lumix, to judge from other You Tube concert vids).

no, only 85 minutes but has a best zoom then the flip but when you move to much this camera makes alot of noise u_u, but in the flip can uses a charger and bateries

Does the camera come with any proprietary editing software? Or does it use an odd video codec? I'm partial to 5MP Sony cameras as my past camera was a DSC-V1 (upgraded to Lumix FZ28).

Just to clarify, the unit runs for around 110 minutes. The longest clip you can shoot is about 25 minutes. Then you need to start another clip.
