You are unnecessarily hateful. Does it make you feel better? Why does it matter that Dolly Parton wrote the song? Intellectual property (Copyright) is your answer. Dolly's version was not even close to being a flop. Unfortunately, you do not even know what you are talking about. Whitney's and Dolly's versions exude different emotions and both versions are great. One of the few examples where the original and the remake are both good.

Obviously you do not know that dolly partons version of the her song hit the billboard charts at number 1 twice and is also ranked 1 in all of country musics love songs. Both women show amazing talent when singing this song. I personally like dolly's version better but I could also listen to Whitneys version all day long. These two women have pure crazy good talent.

well the problem with that competition is most of those women are only nominated in R&B categories, Beyonce gets both pop and R&B nominations and then grammy's gives awards for videos. That is how MJ won so much in 1984 because his music was a bit more diverse. So on the pop side Beyonce has little to no competition.
