She was an idiot to be bungee jumping, and a double idiot for doing it over crocodile infested waters. I'm glad she survived but she shouldn't have kids. They;d be idiots like her.
@Jex134 I have, actually... there was a case here just a couple of months ago that a young jumper got killed when the cord snapped. It does happen. I'm sure it's not very often but it does happen. Of course you can argue about the relative danger, I'm sure traffic accidents are much more usual.
The title of this was truncated to "Bungee Cord Snaps, Jumper Falls In Crocodile" and I expected to see the croc from Peter Pan down there with a napkin around it's neck and it's mouth open and waiting.
@thedarktower79 No one cares if your too scared to go bungee jumping so shut ya mouth buddy ive been sky diving and its wayyyy more dangerous and risk is worth the reward i experience more than life can normally offer to be in a situation more dangerous than life can offer, get it ;) and driving is more dangerous statistically wayy more ppl have died in a car than strapped to a cord and jumping off a building. Go look it up if u think otherwise
love jumping and there's always the chance of something going wrong so every jump make it like your last.. definitely a more secure jump over water obviously your chance for survival ... Whistler ,B.C here
@wetdream09 Oh for,..."death" isn't an entity out there waiting to get you....
That's Medieval superstition. It's like believing in unicorns.
The cord slowed her decent before it snapped thus reducing her effective free fall height to the equivalent of some cliff divers. She's lucky the river was deep.
BTW: Look at the video closely. The tip of the cord hit the water before she did. That means it shot past her. Imagine if it hit her on the way down.
@SpitfireOFatj lol its prob all those final destination movies iv seen. i know your right but its not that i see death as an entity waiting to get you. But i do believe some things are meant to happen and next little accident this girl has she's gone. because no one is so lucky.
@wetdream09 "But i do believe some things are meant to happen and next little accident this girl has she's gone. because no one is so lucky. "
I don't see it as "luck". I see it as physics.
There was a James Bond movie where he bungie jumps off of a dam, The cord is just the right length so when he reaches the end of the stretch he is at a standstill. He is about to go up again when he disconnects and he drops about one foot and lands on his feet like he jumped off of a curb.
So Cenk would never bungee jump because something "could" go wrong... does he ever fly on a plane?... drive a car?... take an elevator?... walk on the sidewalk?...
@7graywolf7 "I wonder what Freud would say about people who throw themselves off a bridge for fun."
The guy though women envied men for having a penis and thought all women secretly wanted to have sex with their fathers. (Probably kept repeating "Who's your daddy?" all through sex.)
For a woman, he would claim she's trying to impress her father. For a man, his mother.
Here in SOCAL there's a place called "Divers Cove". The bottom is a perfect shape for riding the rip tide. You stand in about three feet of water and wait for a wave to hit the shore. As it flows back out you dive in and it sweeps you out to sea. You find yourself flying along the bottom at high speed. You curve upwards as it slows to hit the surface. I've been shot out into 50 feet of water over 400 feet from shore in less than a minute.
@rorrt not at all, your body would naturaly retch up any water in your wind pipe. not luck at all but physics, she survived the fall because the cord caught her before it broke.
@rorrt rolling over to clear your lungs is as instinctual as to put pressure on a bleeding wound, and she didn't actually hit for 2 football pitches the cord would have absorbed most of the impact before it broke, like a safety net. and crocodiles aren't just mindless machines she was probably a lot bigger than any of the animals in the water just by the size of the river compared to what is needed for a full grown crocodile to survive. The only luck would be breaking for her.
@rorrt that would be sharks, crocodiles are actually and prefer to be ambush predators and would not likely try to attack something of larger mass flailing in the water and I doubt though that crocodiles even hunt in that are because the current would give them away and other animals would prefer shallower and calmer sources of water.
@bulelwam It could only have happened where it did, because of the bridge and the river and the crocodiles. Btw this video illustrates why I will never go bungee-jumping. Ever.
@thedarktower79 They even said it in the video: 1 accident in 500,000 jumps. And that was on a bridge between Zambia and Zimbabwe. I just took a random guess that statistics for driving (plus in an old car) would be more dangerous than average bungee jumping, but I don't care enough to look it up.
And why did you reply twice, once with a straight answer, and then again with immature sarcasm?
@BrotherAlpha "It's risk vs. reward. I see no reward bungee jumping"
The reward is continuing to live, just like after a few rounds of Russian Roulette or attempted sahark-riding. What you "risk" by surviving a bungee-jump is your candidacy for a Darwin Award. Go jump off a bridge, announce your candidacy!
also if you've never been bungee jumping, you wouldnt understand. There is NOTHING about PROVING your manliness. If people are asking you to prove your manliness by bungee jumping - you probably shouldnt be hanging out with those ppl
we do it for the thrill. its an adrenaline thing, a being alive thing, a human thing. if you dont want to do it, thats cool - but me, im still looking forward to my next jump
25 yrs old, and 8 jumps in counting: australia, new zealand, guam, zambia, macao & usa
guys, come on - ive did this EXACT jump twice. its BEAUTIFUL - you literally jump into the rainbows because of all the mist - one of the best jumps in the world - and its definitely not 364 FEET not meters. get your facts right. I've also been on 8 jumps to date.
And if you are in zambia, most likely you are going on safari with lions, snakes and bugs that could bite and poison/kill you - the likelihood of that is a lot higher than your cord snapping
364 feet, not meters ;) the bridge is 111 meters high = 364 feet :)
And the bungy stopped the fall before it broke, so her "real fall" was about 30-40m .. Hitting water from that height is pretty much like hitting concrete if you don't know what you're doing though..
@oneirishpoet or they wanted to live a little and have some fun and chose to do it this way. youre calling them/her assholes for doing what they want, that is an asshole thing to do. even if they were trying to "prove" something im sure it wasnt to you. personally im an adrenaline junkie and love doing this "stupid shit" theres nothing like it, just cus you wont do it doesn't mean your a pussy and just cause i do doesnt make me an asshole.
too bad the stupid white bitch wasn't eaten by crocodiles, would've sent a message to the other douchebags to stop being such fucking morons...gawd how I hate these ignorant assholes who do this stupid shit to 'prove' what assholes they really are
A whole new perspective on, "What could go wrong?" THAT!!! Crocodiles, falling a long-ass way off of a short-ass bridge, no hospital in the entire country. Hello?!?!?!
0.0002% failure rate is pretty good. It's 1000th of the chance to slip and fall off a rock apparently. It is probably thousands of times less likely than being involved in a car accident too...
normally ana gives the introduction, cenk gives a reasonable opinion, ana adds some pc or bs (or pcbs) and that's it. in this video it seemed like both are equally contributing to the story (of course its just a story and nothing to have an opinion on). its nice to see them together in the video.
The reason she survived was because the bungie cord took most of the energy out of the fall so the fall was probably more like 50-60 feet. Still a fucking bamf for being able to get herself out and take care of herself like she did.
...and yes there is a chance the cord would snap, there is also a (higher) chance you would get hit by a car, or a stone would fall on your head if you go outside..does this mean u shld stya indoors? ..soo, you don't have balls, which is fine, but don't try to pass it off as "being rational"..
It was 354 FEET, NOT METERS! would your please do YOUR JOB and get the facts right, lame morons? Sorry, I love you , TYT, its just yes, MORONS bcs this shows you know nothing abt the subject (a rarebungee spot is just above 300 meters) and LAME bcs bungee-jumping is awesome and you are cowards who wouldn't take a walk to a mountain top that has chains on both sides..and it's not abt "proving manliness"(i'm a female), it's abt conquering your fears..
When I seen this, I laughed my ass off!LMAO OMG, how stupid can ppl be? She is lucky an alligator didn't rip her ass tro pieces! Only nuts bungee jump PERIOD!
there's this famous bungee jumping spot in nepal that i was considering bunjee jumping from this summer but watching this video has seriously got me questioning whether it's worth it.
@mwolfson86 Yeah, but plane rides are necessary to get to certain places. And hell, you have a better chance in a plane than a car. The difference with bungee jumping is that you have no practical reason to do it in the first place.
No... She did not fall that far. She already was jerked back by the Bungee BEFORE it snapped. Then, she fell in. Also, the Bungee was an OLD cord!!! They were TOO cheap to replace it. I know, I do bungee and safety means you change the cord if it loses resistance during testing with special equipment. Cheap ass crap equipment!
its probably for the excitement of doing it rather than a better view. there's just something awesome about it, as long as you're not afraid of heights and liable to freak out.
lmao she didnt freefall into the river. if she did then the cord would have snapped without resistance.. so basically she fell the length of about 100 feet not 300m or whatever you said. dont get me wrong thats high as fuck but cmon tyt your supposed to be a show that loves science.. physics is A PART OF SCIENCE..
The odds are one out of 500,000.
You're more likely to be hit by a car on three separate incidents. In the same day.
Just saying.

SHE FELL A TREMENDOUS HEIGHT!!! INTO CROCODILE INFESTED WATER!!!
She landed, untied herself, swam to the shore, and had a clear enough mind to roll over and cough up all the water and blood, so she wouldnt drown!!!
And those top comments are like...Yeah, piece of cake!!! She really is a 1 in a million! Very, very lucky!

But as she told the story, that she had the clear mind, to know to roll over, and she knew that she would cough up the water in her lungs.
And i dont really need to repeat that she fell, what was it? 2 football pitches vertically, into water? Known for being crocodile infested...
I call that pretty damn lucky!
rorrt 1 month ago
@rorrt rolling over to clear your lungs is as instinctual as to put pressure on a bleeding wound, and she didn't actually hit for 2 football pitches the cord would have absorbed most of the impact before it broke, like a safety net. and crocodiles aren't just mindless machines she was probably a lot bigger than any of the animals in the water just by the size of the river compared to what is needed for a full grown crocodile to survive. The only luck would be breaking for her.

@rorrt that would be sharks, crocodiles are actually and prefer to be ambush predators and would not likely try to attack something of larger mass flailing in the water and I doubt though that crocodiles even hunt in that are because the current would give them away and other animals would prefer shallower and calmer sources of water.

...and yes there is a chance the cord would snap, there is also a (higher) chance you would get hit by a car, or a stone would fall on your head if you go outside..does this mean u shld stya indoors? ..soo, you don't have balls, which is fine, but don't try to pass it off as "being rational"..

Who does the captioning for this guy? Stop captioning--they're not paying attention; it's distracting.

I am never surprised when I see stories of these "sports" going horribly wrong. When you ask for it, don't complain when you get it.

Cenk! Do you fly on airplanes? It was the first jump in 500 000! Your chances are a lot worse on the road.
mwolfson86 1 month ago in playlist Uploaded videos
@mwolfson86 Yeah, but plane rides are necessary to get to certain places. And hell, you have a better chance in a plane than a car. The difference with bungee jumping is that you have no practical reason to do it in the first place.

That was worth watching just for Cenks' reaction to bungee jumping. Classic.

@truvelocity CORRECT, new cords dont snap, those fucks dont have american style regulations and safety standards.

I bet its much less than a 2% (2/100) chance of falling as long as you aren't fazed by heights. the thing to hold onto actually makes it quite safe.

she has more balls than most commentary mouth pieces
ReeferTim 1 month ago
its probably for the excitement of doing it rather than a better view. there's just something awesome about it, as long as you're not afraid of heights and liable to freak out.

Chances of dying in a car accident: 1,2%
Chances of dying in a bungee jumping accident: 0,0002%
Usefulness of a car: 100%
Usefulness of a bungee cord: 0%
The car wins.
ultranol1983 1 month ago
lmao she didnt freefall into the river. if she did then the cord would have snapped without resistance.. so basically she fell the length of about 100 feet not 300m or whatever you said. dont get me wrong thats high as fuck but cmon tyt your supposed to be a show that loves science.. physics is A PART OF SCIENCE..
way to "drop the ball" on that one
