Only as it cools, rising temps globally have it venting co2 out as it warms. The issue of bacteria and thawing muskeg up here makes individual daily output very minor. I think most protestors have legitimate grievances, and no evil agenda. However, these few protestors we've been hearing about how bring guns to townhall debates have got to stop, and Republicans need to say so. They say they are execrising they're right to bear arms, but really it's a reprehensible act of intimidation, that is worse, I'm sorry to say than the flagatwhitehousedotgov, which I also agree is reprehensible.

If the majority of the tea party members are decent people, they need to police their ranks. Then there is the little know fact of global dimming. It was discovered during the shutdown on all aviation after 9/11. High amounts of carbon in the atmosphere actually reflect sunlight and send it back out into outer space causing a cooling effect. Also, as for carbon, I suggest that you re-read your chemistry textbooks if you truly believe it's the most abundant element and that CO2 isn't toxic at any concentration.

Also the rate of CO2 emissions is far above the usual average (and don't say it's natural because it sure isn't) and cannot be processed fast enough by plants through photosynthesis ( including the fact that the world's largest source of photosynthesis activity ,south American rainforests, are being torn down by the kilometers. Now as far as proof global warming goes there is none. It was warmer according to the ice in Greenland during the dark ages than it is now with all this "CO2" in the atmosphere. A rise in atmospheric temp. is directly related to sun spot activity according to NASA. And as I have mentioned more CO2 comes from 1 volcano in the Pacific ring of fire than all of mankind in 1 million years. So where is your proof that CO2 in the atmosphere raises temp. even 1 degree? @MasterWitchDoctor Ah global dimming. According to Scripps (UCSD), global dimming is caused by released black soot (carbon based) that while heats up the atmosphere also cools the oceans by absorbing solar radiation. Thus over time, the dimming effect diminishes due to its heating effect.

Now as far as my degree is concerned its a Bachelor of Science Biochemistry. I took organic chem is sessions 3 and 4 during the summer and only missed 3 questions total on the finals. The tests I took every Friday I aced 6 times. I have forgotten more about keytones, esters, anhydrides, and peptide bonds than you'll ever remember. In all as an undergrad I had 9 chemistry classes. So don't act all technical it was a guy like me you had as a GTA for lab because I was the stoichemometry lab GTA.

yes CO2 does give esstential "life" to foliage. But with the destruction and clear cutting of many rain forests, there are alot less trees and plants to absorb said emissions. The earth is made up of alot of carbon, but that's not the same was carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is toxic to living animals and also traps green house gases in the atmosphere. Also what is so bad about cleaning up the earth and finding better, renewable resources?

@MasterWitchDoctor CO2 is different than C2H5OH (ethanol) which is different than say Bromobenzene. Each exist in different states (different valence electrons and hybridizations...more sp orbitals in bromobenzene and more p orbitals in ethanol, which gives the two its very different properties). Yes, they all contain carbon...however, they are not all the same. CO2 at high concentrations is a toxic. This is not a disputed fact. Also the earth is nowhere near 90% carbon by mass.

Just for example. You can do other compounds and it will be less than 90%. So I don't know what science courses you took, but you're sorely mistaken on this point. I personally don't support a carbon tax or offsets. I feel that investment in more sustainable technologies and faster implementation is a good hope (not to mention carbon capture techniques). So again, I think you don't have enough knowledge on the subject to make such sweeping claims.

Only as it cools, rising temps globally have it venting co2 out as it warms. The issue of bacteria and thawing muskeg up here makes individual daily output very minor. The bottom line is things like the oil sands in Alberta and US and russian coal and other power is the pollution culprit. When sulfer emissions were reduced global warming actually increased and now the "scientist" want to spray it on us. We breath out Co2, the nazi's/stalin could not have had a better control plan.

I see what youre saying but the protest was about not having a large centralized government with too much control over its citizens. Our founding fathers designed the second ammendment to ensure that we could fight back if we wanted to. I hope with all my heart that this stays violence free. BUT the government needs to stay afraid at least scared enough that they dont give themselves too much power.
