  • That song was the favorite of my Mom.... and me who love all big liners....

  • Lets be honest, the Normandie is the finest liner ever to sail. Years ahead of her time- sleek , streamlined, clean lines, acres of deck space, engines very advanced. I would wonder about her supposed underwater efficiency though with her much publicised bulbous bow- she had a similar amount of HP as the Queen Mary ( 160000shp)- if the hull design was so efficient, why wasn't she the faster ship?????

  • @scabycat The Normandie engine were less powerful so they could save on fuel, its design compensate for that. Anyway, Normandie was faster half of the time than the Queen Mary, its only because of the beginning of war and the fact than the Queen Mary stole the record again from the Normandie just before it start, that she kept the title of the fastest ship.

  • @Peace7Maker that's why they were rival all the time of the career of the Normandie

  • OH God! Normandie is so zombifying. In effect, making a zombie out of me. I have the book by John Maxtone-Graham. I have read it 8 times, broke the binding as a result. What a beautiful Liner. Oh, what a gorgeous ship!
