  • May the force of the Bontrager be with you!--from now until eternity!

  • Nice video! I placed an order for a Trek "GF Collection" Cobia! in the Chi Red! Can't wait to get that in.

  • @checksandbalences I have two bottles cages + bottles now. Not installed yet tho. The saddle actually is pretty good now. It just takes some getting used to i guess. My bike does shift fairly smooth. If your's isn't; You should stop applying pressure to the crankshafts and then shift. (sorry for my english, its the best words i could find haha)

  • how much does this bike weigh stock? is it lighter than a specilized rockhopper comp 29er?

  • I got a Bodega and I put GC3 Ergon grips on it. So much better!!! What is the advantage of the egg beaters? I have Shimano clipless...

  • 31.8 mm diammeter handlebar....not 31.8 degree sweep.

  • Nice vid :)

I just bought the mamba 2012 model (blue/white 23"). I love it :) I don't feel the need to upgrade anything yet, but haven't really gone offroad yet either.

I don't know if I have to get used to it, but the saddle might be the first to go, hurts like hell :(

  • @MrGhris Haha yea the saddle does hurt like hell. I too have a 2012 matte black/ white version, great colors this year and some good upgrades from the 2011 model esp the rockshox XC32. I tried putting on a gel cover on it and it softens it up just a little, I dont know maybe I have to ride it more and get used to it. Do you have any accessories on yours? So far i have a water bottle cage, frame pump and that seat saddle. Oh and since im new to mutli speed does your shift smoothly?

  • nice looking bike...im thinking about getting the new 2012 Mamba when it comes out at my LBS

  • ...the 2011 is a far better mamba

I purchased one today and here they cost 1400D

    plus have nice paint design

  • Sry

  • The 18MM is better

  • i have the same mtb do you think i can install 9 speed cassette on shimano rm-65 hub

  • i havde the same mtb and i want upgrade, do you think the shimano fh-rm-65 is compatible with 9 speeds

  • i have the 2009 edetion it is great the breks are very strong good for road and moyain biking.

  • Carbon everything with a dart fork = so much fail. You can spend all you want but you can't buy common sense.

  • bike of my dreams.

  • nice, getting one on sale here in Toronto for $899 CDN base

  • FYI All - I have about $2500 invested in this bike including the initial purchase price.

  • @NTHNCODY Why the HELL WOULD YOU SPEND 2.5K ON AN ENTRY LEVEL 29ER? YOU COULD HAVE GOTTEN A FREEKIN' HIFI PLUS FSR WITH FOX FORK, ETC. SPEND MORE UP FRONT FOOL! YOU GET A WAY BETTER BIKE TO START WITH, THEN YOU CAN SPEND MORE ON IT LATER AND TURN INTO SOMETHING AMAZING.

  • @NTHNCODY WHY on EARTH would you put that much into a lower medium level bike when you could have just picked up super nice Paragon brand new, and probably even updgraded it !!!?!??!?! WTF??? WHo puts $2,500.00 into a MAMBA? are you stupid?

  • @ybyainc YOU are why I can't stand YouTube. People have opinions and like to share in their hobbies. You appear to know so much and apparently feel the need to spew nasty comments???? Most people in this sport are supportive and fun to be around...maybe everybody on this page should contact you prior to upgrading their bikes just to make sure they don't do anything stupid...get over yourself.

  • @forsalebygail Its not an OPINION that you could have gotten a much better mountain bike for the money you spent, its a FACT. And the reason my tone is RUDE is because your setting a bad example for others as you might lead them to make the same mistake as you made. Your hypocrisy is glaring. You think i am somehow being WORSE than you for pointing out a way to get a better bike, a mid level ride, for the same amount of money that you spent on your entry level 29er? Where is your logic?

  • @ybyainc I find it interesting how you justify being rude to people. I appreciate the comments and suggestions of other people and realize that the internet is a great base of knowledge. You may have missed my point however, which is that your point would be equally valid if you have a kind delivery. I called you out on something that is GLARING to others, you just happen to be blind to.

  • @NTHNCODY What size frame is that and how tall are you? I'm 5'9 and looking into a mamba, but it seemse like such an upright riding position. I'm just wondering if a 29er isn't for me.

  • Why did you keep the fork? I would have done that first. Heck move it up t o at least a Tora. Worlds of difference.

  • @JVRottweil

i really do want to change the fork, but im not doin much hard downhill stuff just yet...ive taken some pretty nasty falls already, but not due to the forks response, just my bad technique at times.... i just moved to Nashville now, so i hope to start hitn up these hills here soon and see how this terrain lays out!

  • @JVRottweil considering upgrading my shock from the DART, what benefit would you say the Tora has?

  • @forsalebygail Well for one the Tora is an air fork. You can customize the ride easier. Its also much more plush. My Cobia came with a Tora. I took it off and out a Fox F29 on it. It was great but needed the $ and put the Tora back on. Truthfully its a damn nice riding fork and I don't regret selling the Fox.

  • @JVRottweil I am buying the 2011 trek Mamba and they ahve Tora! Might move up one or keep it!

  • How much does your bike weigh after all the upgrades?

  • @AndrewMillerB

I believe my bike weighs in around 24-25lbs now.....stock is aroung 29.02lbs.

  • sup dude i have a gary fisher mambi and i want to put disk brakes on it is that possibal to do

  • @proboarder123456789

I believe you can...im not the expert, but it depends if your fork is set up properly to attach the brake mounts. You shouldnt have a problem with the rear though!

  • how much are they... trek websiete isnt working on my computer for some reason

  • @coolkid0310

    $999

  • @coolkid0310

Sorry....actually the GF website says $929

  • you sure this is a 2010 model? this color isnt listed on trek's site

  • @unitaper

  • @NTHNCODY you didnt time anything for a response lol...

  • @unitaper the one on the trek site is whats called "Gary Fisher's collection by trek" and took all the names over, but kept all the good designs for himself. The bike in this video is the 2010, I have one myself.

  • Nice bike man.Hope you don't plan on riding it too hard or those upgrades won't hold up. Looks like you spent a little money but to really be hardcore you will have to step up your brand a bit in my opinion. When it really counts Gary Fisher just doesn't cut it. Believe me.I have owned them and have actually thrown them in a ditch and left them at my local track because they haven't held up. Being your first bike it should be awesome and you can do a lot. When you get serious msg me!

  • I just got this bike too, I love it. Question though, if this is the first bike that you've got in such a long time and your first 29er, why did you upgrade everything so soon? The are not the best components for sure, but are decent for the price. I've had not problems(except the handle bars) with this bike in the north east woods with the stock build. I 've also had several full XTR builds in my day. I would buy a better fork befor all those other mods, thats where the real pay off would B.

  • @sully250r

The real reason that I decided to upgrade all the components was really for cosmetic reasons and my OCD that I have. I like changing things out on my toys so that it has my own touch to it...i think the bike turned out well!

I do agree though...a better fork will be needed probably by next year depending on how hard I to ride the bike this year!

  • @NTHNCODY Its day 4 with new Mamba! I love it! As for new forks,ya get them but only if you're gonna install pushlocs on it. Otherwise stick with what it came with cuz its still peforms well. I plan on going to crankworx this August in Whistler so hopefully by then have hydraulic brakes, how does yours run NTHNCODY? carbon fibre handlebars with the rise, maybe get it in white, white peddles, I really need one of those bagcarriages that attach to seatpost but doubt its possible on the 29ers

  • @segurotech i'm having a blast with my bike.,..taken some sweet falls, but i and the bike keep trekn along..ha. i just moved to Nashvegas...so i should have some pretty sweet terrain to hit up here>>>cant wait! Any new mods?

  • @sully250r The fork is soon to come..>>> any recommendations?

  • @NTHNCODY I'd reccomend the manitou tower pro. Or get a used reba if you wanna save money as theres alot of used ones on the market.

  • i am thinking about getting this bike soon. what do you think? i know you changed out a lot but how does it ride? did you ever ride it stock? if so how did that go?

  • @specialblend241

I love this bike....rides great and the G2 technology makes it very easy to steer and maneuver through technical terrain..

I did ride the stock and the only thing that i would suggest upgrading would be to hydraulic disk brakes..makes the braking much smoother and easier on your body..good luck if you decide to give it a go!!

  • I've had my mamba for couple of months now and absolutely love it. I will never go back to a 26in bike again. Nice upgrades, I'm in the process of getting mine upgraded

  • @shreddnthadrums

Thanks...yeah this bike has been awesome to ride! Enjoying everything about it! Have fun with the upgrading, it begins to add up real quick!

  • @NTHNCODY Great introduction promotion video for the Mamba. I'm getting mine's this friday. Its the SM frame 15.5". You're right the upgrades really add up quick i'm thinking of upgrades already like the Mamba outta come with is RockShox Pushlocs

  • @segurotech

I agree..I believe thats a fairly easy install for about $115 or so...depending on what your local bike shop charges for labor!

  • @NTHNCODY How much did the Bontrager RaceX Lite TLR Disc CL wheels set you back? I'm picking up my Mamba today, I originally bought the 2010 Gary Fisher Wahoo Disc in black. Its really beautiful but it was too big & heavy for me the 19" frame. The bike store has a 10day store exchange so luckily I was able to get the Mamba at 15.5", it feels right. Took it for a test drive & right away i was hooked! I'm going to Crankworx in Whistler, BC with it this August. Have you signed up with XXIX'er crew?

  • @segurotech

I was able to pick these up used from the shop I had my bike worked on for like $300 for both and I think new they are like $300each.

I have not signed up for with the 29er crew yet....but i need to do that! What organization is that through?

  • @NTHNCODY The way it works is you have to talk to your bikeshop & they'll set u up a meeting with the gary fisher regional sales rep & they'll discuss how get in. Its all about the races you compete in, i'm gonna take a run for it. Check out the crankskins they have on the 29ercrew website, i'm hoping to get those too!
