  • hmm hey dude is there a way to reduce the car engine heat delay?

    I drive normally with the BMW M1 it can reach 8000 RPM before getting into red, i ALWAYS shift at 6000, but after 15 rounds on the hazeye eight (or something like that the small track) the engine blows, and i never get into red zone. So if there is a way to reduce that like 3-4 times less it'd be very nice if you tell me :)

    Default game only has limited damage and high damage treshold meaning you need to apply tremedous damage to car before a few car functions break. My mod enable the full damage system and sets thresholds to more realsitic levels. Note not fully realistic bu not nearly as forgiving as the default thresholds.

    Simplifaction by either publisher request or their own judgement to make a in the core heavy sim engine (nothing strange since many devs for Shift are former Simbin devs and amongstthe best in the industry for sim racing games) and game more 'arcady'. Same reason they disabled their fuel system, pitstops, advacned tweaking menu, 24h races etc. That is all in the game but disabled. Sadly enabling fuel and pitstop seems to require reverse enginering of core game files.

  • the most durable cars are the Koeningsegg CCX, and the Pagani Zonda R. i tested them by crashing them into a wall at about 150mph several times to see who could last longer after the impact.

    The weakest car (i'm srry to all the bugatti fans out there!) is the bugatti veyron 16.4 the wheels/tires pop out of the car extremely easily

    Perfectly. The 5770 perfomance is around same as a 4870/4890 and that runs it perfect 60fps with max settings, 1680x1050 resolution and with 8xAA.

  • @SquirlKiller no need for speed shift does not have the cooler failing,skewed wheels and failing gearbox. they dont have that.

  • @yovazquez  i think the point of the mod is to make the car react to crashes more realistically. the games default damage is to little as in you hit a wall at 100 mph you die in game you just shrug it off and drive off like nothing ever happened.

  • Haven't tried it with demo and most likely not functional. Neverthless you can make a try as it might work in demo.

  • No, it is a mod I made for Shfit PC version. OR rather I unlocked the full damage system that already was there but disabled by devs.

  • Only compatible with PC. It is not possible to make mods for PS3 or 360 unless allowed by devs/MS or Sony.

    One question though, i dropped the "vehicles" folder in the nfs folder, but did i have to drop it and replace the old "vehicles" folder ?

    I didn't do it because that folder contained a lot of things, i just copied your map into the headfolder of nfs shift .

    Hope it works . Will test l8er this evening.

  • You just choose one of the packages, either "v3.00 type 1", "v3.00 type 2" or "Old version". Then from that folder you drag and drop the "vehicles" folder into your gamefolder.

    Only file it will overwrite is "physicstweaker.xml" nothing more. If you already have this file then make a backup of it just incase.

  • Regarding the physics rick rate it's actually doubled internally. So setting it to 360hz means it actually runs at 720hz.

  • What's the 360Hz physics tick rate for? I know it's for smoother physics (BioShock had its rate locked to 30), but why such a high number?

  • but still. 360-400Hz is recommended value for racing games of a more simtype. This to be able to calculate contact between obejcts and road when doing 50-100m/sec.

    For example if physics was 60Hz and you do 60m/sec with your car it would be 1 physics contact solver action per 1m. 180Hz which is default is then physics check per 0.33m at 60m/sec.
