You mention the "badger bronzer" brush smells when you get it? Why is that? Also, why would a store send something that you have to clean first 'cuz it smells so bad?

All brushes should be cleaned before using. If you walked into a high end store and they sold brushes, chances are they will smell too(especially when wet, but it goes away). Thats what natural bristles do when new and/wet. Depends on the fur and dyes. Same like washing your clothes that you buy. Wash wash :)

synthetic brushes are available. im not sure if coastal scents carries synthetic though... but the contest doesn't focus on just coastal scents brushes (though the prize is) you can enter any type of brushes from any brand (e.i. mac, stila, urban decay,etc.) ^^

Oh my god I would love to win that.. I am a make up junkie!! &hearts; but I dont use those kind of brushes but I actually would love to have those.. I put on my make up in the morning haha dinnertime and after supper haha its sad I know but wearing my make up for a couple of hours it just disapears and I have to redo it.. I can't find any of these products around my area I am from Westport Newfoundland a very small community and I really dont have access to these types of makeup..

If they were all synthetic brushes I'd enter the contest, but animal brushes are not cruelty free. The living conditions that they keep those animals in are just atrocious. They live in tiny little cages, with hardly any room to even turn around, with little to no veterinary care, dieing slowly. A miserable existence! I won't be a part of that. With the quality and availability of many synthetic brushes there is no reason to have to use animal hair.

The brush I don't like is the BE kabuki. It's very scratchy. The brush I love is the Cats kabuki, so soft and mineral foundation goes on like a dream with it.
