I have no idea about yours or his age, remember to tell Counselors, a Teacher, or the Parent/Guardian or anyone close to him, or even suggest to take him to see a Psychiatrist/Therapist . Perhaps even talk to him yourself (which I assume you did), just because you two broke up doesn't mean he should threaten suicide. It's never too late for anyone and I hope he realizes this.
