Wait...is there anyway for Microsoft to fill in the gaps of the cloud with polygons, then texture it with the actual photos from that perspective? No more spending hours on modeling or using multi-million dollar scanning equipment!!!!
Tell us more about how you got such a clean and detailed surface out of meshlab, whenever I try to make a 100k + conversion it just crashes and crashes :(
nice but it's such a travesty that photosynth doesn't allow this itself. who cares about the fluff flipbook nonsense. that's for iphone users. give us the damn 3D already
Круто конешно но нахуя.В максе те же камни воспроизвести по фотке проще ,быстрее,качественнее и интереснее.Хотя не бесперспективная технология.ПОживем увидем.
Great job! Do you have a Meshlab tutorial or link, where i can learn the basic functions? I have a nice pointcloud of a statue. 178.000 points :) But this Meshlab seems to be difficult for me.

Wonderful for the archaeologists! I'm gonna see if I have enough photos from field school to do this.

Is there a way to obtain the image plane transforms so you can project textures onto the 3d model?

Now we just need to be able to photosynth multiple video cameras together, and we'll have consumer 3D capture.....

That's pretty awesome. How soon till you can extract texture information from the original photographs?

Very nice use of photosynth. I am going to try this out! Thank you for sharing.

Well done but can you tell us what you used to generate a surface from the point cloud?
