Of course chimpanzees are endangered in Argentina, if they are originally from Africa. humans introduced chimpanzees to entertain them in countries outside africa- a zoo is a circus with a different name. the animals are slightly happier, but they're still locked up in a tiny enclosure, or "cage" as this reporter states. chimps have to have huge territories with trees to cover them from the sun. I hate seeing animals locked up like this.

I don't know much about chimps but why can't they speak? like you can get a bird to say hello..why not a chimp? you'd think a chimp would be physically more able to speak having human like features and stuff. Chimps haven't evolved the mechanics of speech. They will immulate Human speech, viv-a-vis sign language, for food treats. So-called talking apes are all obese. More "speech" = more treats. Even the infamous Nim the chimp died of a heart attack in it's 20's (normal is 50-60 years).

Forcing speech from non-Human apes is probably the very worst form of animal abuse. See Eliabeth Hess's book, "Nim Chimpsky."
