Why do boy and girl bands always seem to be the focus music in these 90s tributes,they didnt pollute the scene until the last couple of years.I remember Alternate Rock,Grunge,Nu Metal,Rap,Techno,and Skater/Punk stuff mainly,oh and pop of course before it got super annoying.
The way I define 90s kid is- if you were a child or a teenager (but not yet 18) in the 90s, then you were a 90s "kid". I was a 80s kid (birth to age 8 in the 80s) and 90s kid. Kid doesn't necessarily mean "little child" and I remember more things from about 7 or 8 then I do when I was really tiny. If you were underage in that decade and feel that was your kid decade.... ahhh... people are fighting about this too much.
I was 8-18 in the 90s, turned 13 halfway through 1995. I consider myself a 90s kid. I remember a bit of the 80s, but only the last 2 or 3 years. The early t0 mid 90s I was definitely a "kid" and remember the Genesis and NES, etc... thanks for the memories.
Damn, I remember going to the video store to rent vhs tapes and sega games, not ps3 and blu ray. When we were kids we actually went outside and played in the grass and dirt, a kid these days wouldn't even know what a grass stain looks like. Christmas was something great that everyone looked forward to, now days it almost feels like just another day. The music was better than now. Oh how I miss being a kid in the 90's and oh how sorry I feel for these kids today. I was born in 91'!

@rosered316 I think he's extending what you mean by 'childhood' here. I was born in the 80s, but my teens were in the mid-late 90s;still, l enjoyed ALL this stuff well up to highschool. Most 'kids' don't really start enjoying stuff like that for themselves til they're 4 or 5, so a kid born in 1985 could've spent a good portion of their 'childhood' [age 6-12] in the 90s, having stronger memories of Swat Kats & Power Rangers than Gummi Bears & Ghostbusters. No reason to beef; BOTH decades ROCKED!

Everything came from the 60's: Funk (Sly and the Family Stone etc),Ska,Pop,Punk (The Velvet Underground,MC5,Iggy Pop),Easy Listening,Folk Rock,Girl Groups,Experimental Jazz, Heavy Rock (THe Who,Hendrix,Black Sabbath etc)........just about everything in fact.
The 90's are a mere footnote apart from the fact that it spawned....Grunge.
That's funny! The 1990's was my favorite decade but what people these days say what was cool about that decade is the stuff I hated. Stuff like Vanilla Ice, the show Dinosaurs, etc. Lame, lol! No hate though. I was a teen throughout most of the 90's & turned 20 in 1999 so maybe thats why I never got into that stuff.
(cont...) The music, I was into the Hard Rock, Grunge, Alternative & some Gangsta Rap. (Which overall, all of that was the defining music of that of decade.) Watched shows Liquid Television, Beavis & Butthead, Sliders, & USA Up All Night! Partied my ass off that decade! Had longer hair, striped shirts, baggy jeans/kakis. Psychedelic drugs & pot was big that decade more so than now. (Not saying that stuff is "cool" but it was the times and had fun.) Lost my virginity that decade. It was all fun.

Proving the 90s were the best would need clips of epic events, like the release of Nelson Mandela and Hubble Telescope in 1990, break up of the USSR in 1991, Dolly the Sheep and China becoming more lenient in 1997 and how our lives were revolutionized fully internet. Great shows simply do not cut it.
For example, 2000-2005 came with shows that were 99% as good as 1990s, but even 2000s kids know that 2000s were a cesspool of shitty political events beginning with 9/11.

And as far as the 00s, I could make a list of significant events from the early 00s that you won't remember due to your young age making you too young. For example; do you remember the queen mother turning 100? the syndey olympics? SARS virus? See, you can't remember much from even the 2000s so why would you be a 90s kid?
I do remember 9/11, SARS, Queen's Mother dying, Ronald Reagan's death, George Bush coming in power, his second fight with John Kerry, the switch from 2D to 3D gaming, the succession of Pope Benedict and the big dial-up to broadband switch, and I never was into sports. I got my first gaming system in 99' and recieved mainly hand-me-downs of 90s games and I never had a cell phone. I'm not saying I'm a true 90s kid, but you can't judge a decade until it's over.
I'm born in 1990 and the 90's are just the best decade ever. I use to think that I should have born like 5 years earlier so I can spend my youth(not infant) in the 90's with those good music, games, and TV shows.

I remember in the 90's there were only 5 tv channels. It had been that way for a long time. Now there are over 100. It's crazy! Who needs over 100 channels to watch tv?!
We also didn't have xbox, PS2, Gamecube etc. The internet was easier to use, but even back then a lot of people preffered to find information locally. The music, fashion, tv and films were much better in the 90's! I miss those days.

I miss the old tv shows Nick use to play, I remember songs from the 90s that I wish I knew the titles too, I remember the tamagotchi frenzy, spice girls frenzy, I had a shit load of pogs, I still remember the first time I played Mario kart 64, I saw jelly shoes everywhere, I remember watching Clarissa explains it all, etc. Everything I listed, deals with a 90s kid. If he were born in the 2nd half he is borderline 90s/00s. Remember we are talking about 90s kids not 90s teens. It's the same with people born before 83. They girls had care bears, rainbow brite, my little pony etc. They had a few kid years in the 90s too but were teens not kids for a significant part of the decade.

BUT I was born in early 1992 and can remember 1995 - 1996 a bit vague but I still remember the clothes of the people but was´nt in fashion thats right. 1997 is a really memorable year for me. and 1998 and 1999 I can remember clearly enough. But overall i think I´m a late 90s early 2000s kid . I was age 4 - 12 from 1996 to 2004 so I´m a hybrid. even if i can remember the 00s much better. I think everyone born 1990 - 1993 is a 90s and 2000s hybrid.

Put it these way, your not gonna ask a baby boomer about the "Fabulous 50s" your gonna ask them about the 60s and 70s. A baby boomer is someone who was born between 1946 to 1964. Baby boomers didn't have much experience of the 50s. They did not go on dates, wore leather jackets, and watched James Dean movies at Drive-Ins. They probably played with marbles, Pick-Up Stix, Toy soldiers set, etc. Therefore if someone was born in the 90s than they wouldn't know much of the 90s in all aspects.
I was born in 1994 and hence not a 90s kid. However, you said you're a 90s kid if your adolescence was in the 90s. However people born in 1987 true kids of 1990s, but their adolescence was 100% in the 2000s. Is that considered 90s kid?
@MobHeataEnt People born in the first quarter of the 90s are 90s kids as are those born in the last three quarters of the 80s. Jul 83 - Jun 92 is the range with early 82 and late 92 being borderline cutoffs.
Yeah the 90s was the best decade. It was the last golden age of entertainmnt. The radio had everything from the prebeatles to the modern days. The old stuff, like Charlie Chaplin, was still fairly accessible to kids. You realize, folks, if I live to be 110 yo-in the year 2100, 1900 will be 200 effin years old? 1999 will be 101 years old. Depressing as hell.
The 90's was the best decade ever to me. The 80's comes in second place. But the early 2000's was REALLY good too. I would say the best years in the 2000's was from 2000 to 2003.
If the rest of the 2000's was like 2000 to 2003 it could've had the potential to be better than the 90's.

1985+1995= Best decade ever for me. Tv shows, music n movies these days are utter SHIT! I sound like an old man but I'm only 24 and I already miss that era. Compare the lifestyle of the 80'-90's to now. Hell I'd have no problem going back to playing the super nintendo or sega genesis while watching nightmare on elm street! Bring that shit back! N the commercials n teen movies were SO delightfully cheesy back then. I think I'm gonna shed a tear :(

@rosered316 I think he's extending what you mean by 'childhood' here. I was born in the 80s, but my teens were in the mid-late 90s;still, l enjoyed ALL this stuff well up to highschool. Most 'kids' don't really start enjoying stuff like that for themselves til they're 4 or 5, so a kid born in 1985 could've spent a good portion of their 'childhood' [age 6-12] in the 90s, having stronger memories of Swat Kats & Power Rangers than Gummi Bears & Ghostbusters. No reason to beef; BOTH decades ROCKED!

Everything came from the 60's: Funk (Sly and the Family Stone etc),Ska,Pop,Punk (The Velvet Underground,MC5,Iggy Pop),Easy Listening,Folk Rock,Girl Groups,Experimental Jazz, Heavy Rock (THe Who,Hendrix,Black Sabbath etc)........just about everything in fact.
The 90's are a mere footnote apart from the fact that it spawned....Grunge.

That's funny! The 1990's was my favorite decade but what people these days say what was cool about that decade is the stuff I hated. Stuff like Vanilla Ice, the show Dinosaurs, etc. Lame, lol! No hate though. I was a teen throughout most of the 90's & turned 20 in 1999 so maybe thats why I never got into that stuff.

Watched shows Liquid Television, Beavis & Butthead, Sliders, & USA Up All Night! Partied my ass off that decade! Had longer hair, striped shirts, baggy jeans/kakis. Psychedelic drugs & pot was big that decade more so than now. (Not saying that stuff is "cool" but it was the times and had fun.) Lost my virginity that decade. It was all fun.

Proving the 90s were the best would need clips of epic events, like the release of Nelson Mandela and Hubble Telescope in 1990, break up of the USSR in 1991, Dolly the Sheep and China becoming more lenient in 1997 and how our lives were revolutionized fully internet. Great shows simply do not cut it.
For example, 2000-2005 came with shows that were 99% as good as 1990s, but even 2000s kids know that 2000s were a cesspool of shitty political events beginning with 9/11.

And as far as the 00s, I could make a list of significant events from the early 00s that you won't remember due to your young age making you too young. For example; do you remember the queen mother turning 100? the syndey olympics? SARS virus? See, you can't remember much from even the 2000s so why would you be a 90s kid?

I do remember 9/11, SARS, Queen's Mother dying, Ronald Reagan's death, George Bush coming in power, his second fight with John Kerry, the switch from 2D to 3D gaming, the succession of Pope Benedict and the big dial-up to broadband switch, and I never was into sports. I got my first gaming system in 99' and recieved mainly hand-me-downs of 90s games and I never had a cell phone. I'm not saying I'm a true 90s kid, but you can't judge a decade until it's over.

I remember in the 90's there were only 5 tv channels. It had been that way for a long time. Now there are over 100. It's crazy! Who needs over 100 channels to watch tv?!
We also didn't have xbox, PS2, Gamecube etc. The internet was easier to use, but even back then a lot of people preffered to find information locally. The music, fashion, tv and films were much better in the 90's! I miss those days.

If he were born in the 2nd half he is borderline 90s/00s. Remember we are talking about 90s kids not 90s teens. It's the same with people born before 83. They girls had care bears, rainbow brite, my little pony etc. They had a few kid years in the 90s too but were teens not kids for a significant part of the decade.

BUT I was born in early 1992 and can remember 1995 - 1996 a bit vague but I still remember the clothes of the people but was´nt in fashion thats right. 1997 is a really memorable year for me. and 1998 and 1999 I can remember clearly enough. But overall i think I´m a late 90s early 2000s kid . I was age 4 - 12 from 1996 to 2004 so I´m a hybrid. even if i can remember the 00s much better. I think everyone born 1990 - 1993 is a 90s and 2000s hybrid.

It doesnt matter what the fashion or movies was. It's what you rememer and grew up with. I didn't grow up with 00s stuff. I'm a 90s kid. I remember things I grew up as a kid which means I grew up with things for kids like Nick. The 00s suck, so stop trying to prove my childhood wrong when you don't even know me.

Put it these way, your not gonna ask a baby boomer about the "Fabulous 50s" your gonna ask them about the 60s and 70s. A baby boomer is someone who was born between 1946 to 1964. Baby boomers didn't have much experience of the 50s. They did not go on dates, wore leather jackets, and watched James Dean movies at Drive-Ins. They probably played with marbles, Pick-Up Stix, Toy soldiers set, etc. Therefore if someone was born in the 90s than they wouldn't know much of the 90s in all aspects.

I was born in 1994 and hence not a 90s kid. However, you said you're a 90s kid if your adolescence was in the 90s. However people born in 1987 true kids of 1990s, but their adolescence was 100% in the 2000s. Is that considered 90s kid?

@MobHeataEnt People born in the first quarter of the 90s are 90s kids as are those born in the last three quarters of the 80s. Jul 83 - Jun 92 is the range with early 82 and late 92 being borderline cutoffs.

Yeah the 90s was the best decade. It was the last golden age of entertainmnt. The radio had everything from the prebeatles to the modern days. The old stuff, like Charlie Chaplin, was still fairly accessible to kids. You realize, folks, if I live to be 110 yo-in the year 2100, 1900 will be 200 effin years old? 1999 will be 101 years old. Depressing as hell.

The 90's was the best decade ever to me. The 80's comes in second place. But the early 2000's was REALLY good too. I would say the best years in the 2000's was from 2000 to 2003.
If the rest of the 2000's was like 2000 to 2003 it could've had the potential to be better than the 90's.
The best year of the 2000's was the year 2000. And i think the year 2000 was the best year ever. It was like all the years before it was put together and that made the year 2000.

I LOVED KENAN and KEL !! i'm 14 people who comment on these videos always say ur not a 90's kid ... and you wouldn't be able to remember this , yeah i remember tons of stuff like the craze with jelly shoe's inflatable chairs , mopatop shop , blues clues , recess, tom and jerry kid's, power rangers when it was good ! ... the angry beavers... i had a yellow gameboy ( the brick) and then thought i was cool when i got a gameboy colour ! 1985+1995= Best decade ever for me. Tv shows, music n movies these days are utter SHIT! I sound like an old man but I'm only 24 and I already miss that era. Compare the lifestyle of the 80'-90's to now. Hell I'd have no problem going back to playing the super nintendo or sega genesis while watching nightmare on elm street! Bring that shit back! N the commercials n teen movies were SO delightfully cheesy back then. I think I'm gonna shed a tear :(
