@LigafanPotteriana Yes, she did. Not superbe, but she did. I put this video on Super Slow Motion, and I could see the four spins. It's a shame her SVand execution be so poor. With a little bit more SV, she would be amazing.
@LigafanPotteriana She did a Gomez. But this is the only really hard release on coreography. And it's not impossible a D 5.7 with a Gomez. The judges can count just a triple spin, because her feet down very early, between the third and the fourth spin.
Well, maybe was my mistake. Let me try again: she tried a Gomez. She did four spins. But, because her feet, the judges counted just 3 spins. And yes, you're so right: she isn't so powerfull on FX.
@LigafanPotteriana It's actually not impossible... Full-in E, 2.5 D, switch ring C, split leap 1/1 C, Gomez E, 1.5 + 1.5 CC .1, switch 1/2 C, double full C, double pike D. EDDCCCECCC= 3.6 + 2.5 + .1 = 6.1. So if she did a 1.5 + front pike as her third pass (which many of the Chinese do), she'd have a 5.8 and if the full-in was only a double tuck, she'd have a 5.7. So it's not impossible.
Soo wierd how even if they put her up last she still got a horrible execution score...they shouldn't have deducted more for easier routines (like Nastia's AA vault and all of Pavlova's floor exercises).
Her tumbling had controlled landings even though some of them were hunched, but the form in the air is good, this is not worse than Steliana Nistor who always got higher execution scores for hideous form in air and huge steps!
Wow, finally there is a video of Shanshan on floor of the Olympics! I looked for it for so long, but I couldnt find one! Thank you very much for posting, she was great!!! Is the score so low, because her A-score isnt so high or did she make serious mistakes? i didnt see any...
Reputation, difficulty value and starting order over skill and execution. The judges are still deducting according to the old CoP (an easier routine warrants more deductions and earlier routines will get lower scores), but someone should inform them that the rules have changed. Seriously.
I didn't know that she competed something other than beam

why was her score so low

She looks like she has no muscle at all. But she does I'm sure. It seems like the people who choreographed the other Chinese gymnast forgot hers.

@MadeleinePhillips666 They are 2 or 3 spin, not four!!! It's impossible that an exercise D 5.7 had a four spin!! And she isn't so powerful!!

@humphrey861 I think its supposed to be artistic but it looked like the floor gave her an electric shock

I would say that this routine wasn't as excellent as her teammates, but she should've got a higher execution score (around 8.7-8.8 I think)

I like the Floor Music...does anybody know the name of the song?
Flying594 2 years ago
It is from the Seven Swords sound Track. It was supposed to Be Cheng Fei's music, but she wanted Yellow River instead.

@Flying594 Its 4 songs grouped together: Encounter at the Shrine/ Setting the Horses Free/ Spirit of the Swords? Seven Swords Victory.

Not quite as difficult as other floor routines, but nicely done all the same.

That's what I was wondering too. How does she get an 8 for execution?
tillhumanvoices 2 years ago 5
No idea! i think she was great and could have had a bit higher score!^^ I love Li Shanshan - especially on beam :)
KarpfenKarpfen 2 years ago 16
well, it's probably because some of her landings were kind of low (piked when she landed) and she took some steps.
