Sorry, but Stevie slaughtered him Hendrix was maybe a little soulful, but you're comparing Stevies studio version to this live track. Find a live version. And Hendrix was good, but you have to be a simpleton to think he was the best. I'm so tired of hearing that. Jerry Garcia was way more evolved and he gets no recognition.

Remember, Stevie also took his sound from a bunch of other people (Albert King being a huge one). Jimi made his sound on his own, I am not denying that Stevies version is good, it's just that they're incomparable.

Buddy Guy, Guitar Slim...Hendrix was maybe the second best rythym guitarist in Rock, but he wasn't nearly the best lead player. He said that himself. That's all I'm saying. I could name at least three sixties rock players he couldn't hold a candle to. Even his stage theatrics were stolen from buddy guy
