@Donnie37643 It would be ok, but there are better ones. Every Park Pickle I have ever ridden starts off pretty stiff and takes some time 2 break in. I would put a beginner on something a little softer right out of the wrapper.
With few exceptions everything Mervin makes has a stiffness between 5-8. Boards I would suggest to you all have about a 6. With that in mind know that we are talking about boards that are crazy similar.
@Donnie37643 Depends on your snow. Here in the NW we get lots of heavy powder so you need a lot of surface area to float.
158W = better float, more stable at faster speeds and landings
155W = Easier to get your turns down, better when you learn park and spin, more playful
Know that it's a relatively new thing where we would even consider putting a 190lb guy on a 155. I personally ride between 152 and 168, depending on the snow conditions, board (camber, taper, etc), and who I'm riding with.
@BoardInsiders o ok. well im in the east so its mostly ice/hardpack. since im a begginner i didn't kno if it was to soon for me to start hitting the park just yet so i mostly cruise tryna make sure I have turning on lock. this would mean the rossingol trickstick is up my alley for begginer boards as well? but i think i need a board with magnetraction
@xxxxRandomHeroxxxx Yes and no. Depends on the year. For years it was directional-twin. For 2012 it's asymmetrical (pickle) shaped which means that it's twin tip to tip but the side cuts are different.
if i want to be able to cruis around a mountain of a bunch of different hills but still be able to go the park and hit up a lot of boxs, rails, and kickers, would this board suit me?
@crmeehan24 If you're thinking GNU take a look at the Billy Goat. It's one of the best boards in variable conditions. I have added a link at the end of this video to the GNU Billy Goat Review.
Love this board got it at the beginning of last season and it was great. I ride in the poconos mostly and there's always ice and with the magnetraction you can't even tell there's ice. Also the poconos is all park pretty much and it flexs pretty good on boxes not too stiff not too soft. Took it out west this year too and floated great in the pow and is truly just an amazing all around board. If you have the cash buy this board.
Absolutely love it! It is all its hyped up to be. It took me about a day of riding to figure it out since I never really snowboarded before but now I feel confident I can do just about anything with this board. I highly recommend it!
anywhere anytime loved it , i snapped the last seasons model ; i got the cash back ;and im waiting for a new one as soon as i can afford it... gnU rOKKX!
Hey great work you guys! I'm happy to see that video and I look forward to the next couple! You doing more work at Stevens this year? It's snowing hard! Yeah!
I heard the rossignol trickstick is a good beginner board but will it hold up on the ice as good as the lib tech banana as a beginner board?

12 boot = wide
Look at:
Carbon Credit
Skate Banana
then
Pickle

It's on the list but the next two boards reviews released will be, the Ride DH2, and the women's Arbor Cadence.
We'll move the Gnu CC up the list for you.
