  • oh no sir my dad have a 98 and something went wrong with it he took it to the Chrysler dealer ship and it still running like a boss

  • this iis what i plan on buying =)

  • Just bought a '93 with 127 on the clock for 500. Its a little rough on the outside, but its going to be covered in mud anyways! ;) Thanks for this video Saabkyle04!

  • i used to drive jeep then i took an arrow to the knee

  • @savage4312 no no that is dead

  • @monky451 thank god

  • The only two things that is wrong with the Jeep 93-97 Grand Cherokee's, after carefully reviewing, are the transmission and the gas tank is placed behind the rear wheel axle. Otherwise, Good Vehicle!

  • these jeep have shitty transmissions cuz mine is slipping not shifting but the 4.0 L are great

  • i love jeeps i own one but black!

  • Damn That Car Is 100% Perfection I Would Buy If I Was In North Carolina They Fixed It Up Nicely. They Basically Made It That What Ever Lucky Person Bought Couldn't Look At Them If Something Was Faulty Every Single Piece On That Car Is Brand New. Even Though The Car Is Not

  • Is it me or am I hearing a busted hydraulic lifter? :/

  • @FathomWraithPB I hear it too, I think it was a common issue with those 4.0 Jeeps, mine made the same noise

  • I have an exact twin of this car.

  • @Jakeman2164

A mercedes costs Alot lol, you comparing apples to oranges, i bet your Mercedes cant drive through 3 feet of snow STOCK.. The leather isnt cheap either Calfskin leather is real high quality leather dude.. look it up.. as for gas mileage... any V8 today is like that, thats what happens when you buy a 5.9 Liter V8... you want 350lbs of torque ? You have to pay for it by getting 13mpg in the city..

  • @Jakeman2164

Also i doubt you have ever been in a 5.9 limited, perhaps you saw a limited but the 5.9's were the Luxury last year line of the ZJ's.. Those were really nice inside..

  • @Jakeman2164

Sure it is, they are very comfortable to me.. especially my 5.9 with its calf skin leather seats... If it werent for the ease of taking these vehicles apart and back together it would cost a fortune to fix things if things were to go bad. To take the side panels off on the doors its just 2 screws and some clips... EXTREMELY easy, the dashboard is about 18 screws and pops off with ease.. Getting a cd player installed takes 5 minutes..

  • @Jakeman2164

    Continued:

They werent made for luxurey they were made for off-roading and ease to build on. If you know anything about off-roading and wrenching (which you dont cause your balls have dropped yet) you know they were built for this. This was back before the current Grand Cherokee's which lost all of there off-roading ability and switched to more luxurey.

Paired with a 5.9 magnum it was also the fastest suv in the world up until the SRT8 in 2005

  • @1ownjoo2 correction, it was the fastest SUV in the world until the 2004 Porsche Cayenne S. Thn the SRT8 beat it in the following years

  • @sexyboi142

The Cayenne is an SUV crossover, but ok

  • @1ownjoo2 Well technically speaking the Cayenne isn't car based so it's not a crossover. and both the Grand cherokee (ZJ-WK2) Have been unibody so theres no arguement there, and the cayenne is also unibody

  • @sexyboi142

Its a crossover according to there website and wiki..

  • @1ownjoo2 Wiki is not a reliable source for anything. The 1st gen Cayenne isn't a crossover, but it's neither a body on frame truck either. The Cayenne is the equavalient to the VW Toureg which isnt a crossover either.

  • @sexyboi142

There website even calls a crossover.. doesnt matter anyway, im happy with my 5.9, i dont care if isnt the FASTEST whatever anymore, its a nice vehicle and i get compliments on it all the time ppl dont relise its a 13 year old Jeep they think its newer by how it looks inside ect, 5.9 had the nicest interior from the ZJ's.

  • @Jakeman2164

I know people who have these at 300k miles, and the engine is still solid, altho after 300k miles the transmission has been rebuilt at least once. These ZJ's are tanks, and last forever thats why you see so many of them still on the road. Everyday i count maybe 6-7 of them on the road... that says a lot for a 18 year old model. The interior on every vehicle is plastic.. dont tell me otherwise.. its true these ZJ can be pulled apart easy but that was the whole design point

  • @Jakeman2164

Bullshit dude, 80k miles ? Haha... you must not have done any maint to it. I have 2 of em, one is the 4.0 like in this vid cept a 98 and it has 190,xxx miles on it original tranny, engine and everything else, the only thing wrong with it is the paint is pealing after being in AZ for so long. I also have a 98 5.9 magnum V8 with 130k, original everything.

Its called preventative maintenance, the tranny fluid is suppose to be changed every 30k , i bet you never did it once

  • @Jakeman2164

Have you ever seen a 5.9 Grand Cherokee, or the Limited models inside before ? You probably havent.. Another thing when it comes to interior's on these Jeep's. They are extremely easy to take apart and put together if you need to fix something. The whole Jeep infact is easy to fix yourself to where i bet your fancy vehicles are hard to even change the oil in. This guy's Jeep is a laredo which is the base model.. Go look at a limited or 5.9

  • @Jakeman2164

You wish.... that Jeep is 14 years old buddy.. shit happens

  • Thinking about buying a 98 Cherokee limited ed. Dont know much about them. Are they good vehicles? Dependable? This one has 204k mi. good condition tho. 3k on sticker. 2500+- blue book.

    ANY advice would be helpful...

  • got the same year jeep, but mine doesnt have the bug shield on the front and mine is a champagne green

  • 4 litre engine in my Cherokee xj 1993 nice car)))

  • very nice for a 1997! Cant beat a Jeep for a 4x4. Ford? Fix Or Repair Daily? That spells ford. lol Serious trans problems if check urveys,

  • i love this car.my grandma owns a red one and it kicks ASS!

(although she has had to make a lot of repairs because of the age.she's already replaced three tires on it.)

  • your so lucky you got the 2wd transfer case. i got the 4wd all time all wheel drive transfer case that okay but sometimes i would just like 2wd.

  • it sounds a little like my 72' Porsche 911 ^^

  • I just saw the deal of a life time on craigslist. 1995 jeep grand Cherokee limited with the 318 V8 and 75,000 original miles for 4 grand. Black with gold trim and tinted windows, tailights, and turn signals. God I want it

  • i used to drive to work in one of those

  • i got a 97 too, i bought it a month ago, it has 146643 miles, and it stils a beast!!!

    it stills kicking asses!!!!

greaT video! i´ll make one my own.

  • @gastonbonnat I had a 96 that had 340,000 miles and still would spin 31" mud tires on pavement. The inline 6 is tough.

  • i want that jeep, can i buy that from you i can pay you $4000 to $8000

OR WAHT EVER HOW MANY YOU WANT

  • tengo una juguete de ese mismo color y como me gusta la patona.

  • @moparmaniac21 THX a lot!!

  • nice web site!!!

  • MOPAR or NO CAR!!

  • I love those jeeps too. I have a red 96 grand cherokee limited in mint condition. Its got 41k original miles and rust free. They are so fun to drive. Thats why i got an older one. I'll make a video of it for ya

  • the 1992-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee was assembled in

    Detroit, Michigan, United States

    Graz, Austria

    Córdoba, Argentina

  • are you selling this haha

  • that car has a nice moustache

  • I looked up Monroe motor company on google earth, and I found it!!!!!

  • This is the best condition I've ever seen a ZJ in.

  • i have the exact same car. but what makes a grand cherokee a "laredo"?

  • On '97 6 cylinder it is 5000 lbs with transmission cooler added. I have two Jeeps. They are bullet proof if you change the oils. M

  • Very clean Jeep!

  • does anybody know the towing capicity

  • @hrprk7 2000 lbs. maximum towing capacity with the 4.0 according to edmonds.

  • I love the Horn!!

  • very good tutorial( from brazil) =D

  • SELEC-TRAC FTW!

  • that light slide thing

you did it on the driver side do it on both sides

  • nice how much is it

  • i have this car! but it has no compression and is severly damaged. just bought a 2010 dodge challenger to replace it!

  • Hey Kyle, I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee just like this, same paint scheme and everything, and I'm curious as to what you use to restore gray trim on vehicles? I need to restore the bumpers and side trim. What do you recommend I use?

  • @SleyarXz i would use that amor guard stuff. I forgot the actual name for it but it helps resotre plastics

  • This one is in really great shape for being 13 years old. I liked this style of Grand Cherokee too. Most of the ones that I see on the road of this body style, are in pretty bad shape, so this one is definitely a rarity.

  • That Jeep is nice looking. Truth be told, I'm not the biggest Jeep fan. My friend's mom has a '95 and it is a piece of crap. The 4WD doesn't work, it dies all the time, and the transmission is shot. Of course, it could also be that she's an airhead and doesn't get it maintained like it's supposed to be.

  • @TheGizmo4382

any vehicle that isnt maintained after 17 years.... and I'll quote 17 YEARS, will have problems.

  • god i love these older jeeps.... when u say jeep.. this is what i think off. :) though i have seen the 4.7 or atleast te v8 more then the I6

  • @flyerholland the v8's that came in this body style (zj) were 5.2 and 5.9 (which was only offered in 1998). THe 4.7 was introduced to the WJ in 1999

  • What where you asking for it?

  • You can really tell this is such a Chrysler product... everything is plastic, and EVERYTHING squeaks and rubs together!

  • If you could stop saying "as well as" twice in one sentence, that would be nice... haha sorry to be an ass. It's just annoying. And sounds wrong grammatically.

  • nice lookin cherokee kyle. i have that same exact radio in my bedroom from my 99 caravan

  • best jeep grand cherokee ever i love that one

  • Haha, Duran Duran.

  • this car reminds me of the old '96 cherokee you guys used to have.

  • I've always loved this car, this is the best generation of them all!

The 5.9 version engine is the best sounding SUV!

  • I've always loved this car, this is the best generation of them all!

  • Nice could you do an video on a 1990-1994 BMW 5 series?

  • the dashboard looks alot like a dakota or a durango.

  • My family used to have one of these. It might have been the same color even. We had the Limited with the leather seats, and they were unbelievably comfortable!

  • Also, we had one of these, it was a '96, but pretty much the same thing. BTW, the pattern on the seats is called Dayton/Regina cloth, according to my '96 Jeep brochure.

  • No keyless entry remote?

  • That Cherokee is in practically brand new condition. Wow!

  • Gotta love your older Grand Cherokees! Great vid as always Kyle!

  • Wow this Jeep looks exceptional... nicely done kyle

  • PUNCH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • do this one have a blown engine?? does the radio still work?

  • Did the car your father drive now?

  • i think that it would be a good idea to record a short clip explaining that this is an older video and insert the clip before the actual video. i don't think a lot of people actually read the description lol

  • really nice truck man i had a 98 v6 limited couple years ago....yes it was a LIMITED V6 black on black leather no plastic grey moldings .....well made trucks

  • That Grand Cherokee is so basic! I'm used to seeing them loaded, like CD changer, leather power seats, heated seats, etc...this one is so so basic!

  • I like the 1997 Ford Explorer more.

  • My Dad had a '95 Grand Cherokee Laredo with close to 300k miles on it. Those 4.0L motors are bullet proof!

  • Thanks for sharing Kyle!!!!! This is my dream car, especially in silver like this one!!!!!

  • not that old... i spy the genesis in the garage :-p lol It must be nice to be able to start a jeep (reference to that old pos grand cherokee {before it was fixed}). Geez, that jeeps in great condition, too bad i don't like them (poor fuel economy). I do like those keys and their chime :-p

  • The truck is in really good condition.

  • no rke kyle, i thought i saw it on the keychain

  • can you post them on facebook first

  • this jeep is sweet kyle! would you suggest buying a used one like this?

  • Ahhhhh a video without highway noise. These vids at your house are the BEST!

  • Ah Kyle, the dreaded inline 6, that motor if well taken care of, will run for over 300k. nice find and hope that it goes to a good home.

  • Nice review. Could you review the colorado on your lot?

  • kyle u should do a video on an old toyota supra or even better ... a classic nissan skyline

    what do u think ?

  • @AzestPro it will be really hard to find a skyline

  • @celsovera91 i know but waiting makes it worth while :D

plus i know for sure kyle can make it happen right kyle ?

  • I always wanted the late 90's Grand Cherokee

  • you look kinda like the quarterback on my team, his name is Luke though

  • i saw you have 2004 infiniti fx35 in your dad's dealership, can you please make a video about that vehicle?

  • love those monsters! is it still up for grabs, i might know some one who might want it!

  • 'Related video'-"Cash for Cluners- 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8"

That video makes me want to cry. :(

  • hehe my friend had one of these the door panels were peeling off :P

  • Was you dad the one holding the camera towards the end?

  • you forgot to engage and disengage the 4wd

  • @roi432 I said already in the description that this is an OLD video lol

  • @saabkyle04 oh, ok, i'm sorry, this is not roi432, i just commented on another relpy lol

  • hey i have a question. Can you turn on or off the 4x4?

  • Exhaust somewhat reminds of a Cummins TD revving up. Should sound similar since they're both straight 6s.

  • thanks for putting this up im starting to get intrested in grand cherokees

  • hey kyle i just turned 16 yesterday and iv'e been looking at one of these and a 1998 ford explorer sport which one would u prefer.......thanks

  • Hey Kyle, can you rev higher? Plus you say power everything, but manual seat. Could you also tell us, FWD, AWD, RWD, or 4WD, and more of the back, e.g. air conditioning if present, how it rides.

  • kyle can you do one on the nissan altima coupe?

  • '90s Jeeps are the best! My favorite! I came real close to buying a '94 GC, but I decided to look into other cars. Good thing too, 'cause I got my Explorer for about $2,000 less. Still would like to have one though.

The sound of the 4.0s starting up is heavenly. Best six cylinder engine ever made.

  • squeaky interior :(

  • I like seeing these Jeeps, very reliable, and so cheap. One of the few cars that are the best.

  • u know some of the vids with the 720p cam they are just filmed in hq and not hd :(

  • the squeaky center console is SO ANNOYING!! i have a 99 grand cher. and it squeaks too..

as a side note, can you make a video of the bugs in the woods at night? sounds weird but here in NV we dont have them and i miss them from when i lived in st louis

  • I see your sexy Genesis Coupe in the garage

  • dang, it looks new inside and out

  • @1987xbox I have told people already. have you not seen the 3 videos I already uploaded?? They're all filmed in HD just not youtube HD

  • @saabkyle04 how is that possible? 720P on a camera is 720P on youtube, if you actually upload it in 720P,

regardless, keep up the good work :)

  • @christopherguindon All it is is a slightly smaller file format with iMovie. HD videos you can blow up more but for youtube's video player, you don't need that large of a file size

  • @saabkyle04 Hey saabkyle04, remember i asked a request to engage 4WD, this would've been the perfect vehicle, because it was a lever, not buttons or a switch, you must've forgot?

  • nice Jeep, too bad it doesn't have the digital display info center though.

  • @Fred924 but with the amount of GC clunkers, you can probably VERY EASILY Fine one.

  • Gotta love those Jeeps our family had a 1988 Cherokee Chief bought it brand new in 88 drove it till 1999 at that time it had well over 350,000KM not sure what that is in miles as I am in Canada the only thing needing replacing on it was a few clutch's rad hose and the usual oil changes other then that it had no issues AMC made the transmission for Jeep at the time I believe .

    - Chad

  • @techlover86 That's a little over 200,000 miles. That's at the upper limit for most cars.

  • can you do a 2010 ford escape hybrid??
