This is the school 'quick' march whilst the chapel hymn was completely different. Can remember the guards on G day getting out of step to this march especially leading up to the march pass!
Used to play this when I was on lead trombone ( ;-) in the DYRMS band. Mixed feelings, as I was sick of the tune to be honest, but because it always accompanied the quick march past the dais, it meant the Sunday parade was nearly over.
Also, that final - and best - part is totally unfamiliar to me; I don't ever remember playing it. Guess we played the shorter version, and transitioned to a new march as soon as the march past was over.
@m0ngbwalu we dont play it anymore, but in the last year have tended to favor "i vow to thee my country" for some reason, but you can see all the lips of Dukies mouthing the words because of the previous song comp we had to sing "i vow to thee" and one of our choice
OMG, my grandpa march to this song, i march to thing number when i was 14 in the cadets and later as an Infantrymen. The wonder of being in the commonwealth so much is shared within the armed forces.

the Duke of York's is the best school i have ever had the pleasure of attending, this song is so much better with the Dukies singing it

It has the same name as the school hymn but a totally different tune! This confused me a bit too, but I think it's correct.

I'm pretty sure this isn't sons of the brave, at least not the same as the school hymn
