you have to re jet if moving from a stock pipe, but mine is jetted for an open pipe, and it runs fine (probably a little rich) with the quiet core.

i moved up from a kawasaki mojave 250. couldnt be happier with the klaws. they were $30 cheaper each than maxxis and itp and after 2 seasons tread is still 100%. maxxis and itp make good tires but the kendas are just as good and alot cheaper.

HMF is louder in my opinion,,but for more performence and a better pipe deffinetly go with the yoshi..but since you are just going for noise performce dont matter with you so get the HMF,,cheaper and louder (in my opinion)

well i never rode a 400 with the stock exhaust, but it sounds great and people say its one of the best pipes you ccan get. just a little expensive.

italianguinea8 with some exhaust's such as the bill's thunder series full system and big gun full systems you can actually take the spark arester out for motocross but depending on the quad/dirtbike you may have to rejet it. It does give you a little more power with the spark arester out tho.

it depends really, if its jetted well for use with the spark arrestor then you take it off, you make a a lean condition, witch will make yor engine run a little hotter. i run my quiet spark arrestor most of the time then at the motocross track i take it out and it runs fine.
