  • Joan Hickson, and Joan Collins. This has to be a good Episode!!

  • HA! @5:30 the train announcer says, "this is the 4:50 from Paddington". i just loved that 1 XXD

  • I absolutely adore Joan Hickson, she's *the* Marple for me. But Julia McKenzie is really growing on me...

  • @GiniaKat I agree, except that Margaret Rutherford still stands as #1 for me, lol. With Joan Hickson as a close second, then Julia Mckenzie... =)

  • @MissJessyeNorman I love Margaret Rutherford - but her Miss Marple is not at all like Agatha Christie's. Joan Hickson was almost exactly like I'd imagined MM from reading the books.

  • How strange the station master mentions 4:50 from Paddington at 5:31. That was the title of one of AG's novels.

  • Thank you for posting this series in you tube.

  • I've read the book and it's quite different from the film so far. Where's pippa? Why is mildred so young?? I remember that Lewis picks up Marple at the station, doesn't he? And then comes Gina. It's all messed up! D:

  • @Soofshaa or was it Lawrence? Now I'm confused!!

  • @Soofshaa With these new productions they often stray a great deal from the original plot. Even changing the murderer.

I imagine they think audiences don't want to see the same story over again. I don't agree, but alas, I still enjoy these. Just not as much as the ones that stay faithful to Agatha's books.

  • I've seen Sarah Smart (Mildred) in three TV shows lately: Echoes of the Dead, the latest Midsomer Murders episode; Mrs. McGinty's Dead (Poirot, 2008 episode), and now this. She's a little wisp of a thing, and quite a good actress, I think. According to IMDb, her great, great, great, great, great, great grandmother was the 16th century Irish pirate Grace O'Malley, known as the 'mother of all rebellions'. Hmmm, interesting.

  • Julia McKenzie is doing a fine job as Marple, I think. Margaret Rutherford was the funny JM. Angela Landsbury, Lord love her, had some strange make-up going on. Helen Hayes wasn't bad, such a seasoned actress. Joan Hickson is the Marple I see in my mind when I'm reading the books, and she is, to me, the ultimate JM. Then came Geraldine McEwan, whom I truly love, and I thought she added quite a sparkle to the character. And now Julia, who is growing on me. I love them all; thanks for uploading.

  • @lynfendleyfoster Yes I am with you. I agree all these women are a class of their own and they epitomize Ms. Jane Marple in their own way. I wish people realised that instead of bashing the actresses.

  • @lynfendleyfoster I agree!!!

  • Stephen's a poor man's Jake Gyllenhal :P

  • Joan Collins is fab... Thanks for the post!!!

  • i hope its not the daughter, i mean the woman's real daughter. not the adopted one.

  • Oh my!!!!!!!!...Carrie Louise's husband played in Sharpe....I forgot his characters name but I'm happy that he's brought an essence of Sean Bean into this. I remember him because I used to think he looked a little like Eric Cantona.

  • Detektiv. Vsem boyatsa.

  • Prime Minister Harriet Jones!

  • OMG!!! Joan Collins !!!!

  • Oh no. The daughter was Pippa, not Gina. Gina was Pippa's daughter, and Mildred was Gina's aunt. -.- Film adaptions... -sigh-

  • pippa isn't mentioned, mildred's too young, same as carrie louise.. and what's wrong with lewis?? o.O what a pitty..

  • i find it funny that Collins is 8 years older than Mckenzie, but she looks 20 years younger. haha

  • What's with Joan Collins's accent? Lol. At one moment it's some form of North American and then British the next moment.

  • @petie71 that would be okay becuase the character is Britsh but moved to North America

  • @petie71

She is doing a good impression of a mid-Atlantic accent. Unlike the phoney Madonna blending of U.S./ English accents...Joan Collins knows what she is doing.

  • how the fuck do u describe someone in a coat and hat "Wicked"???

  • This looks like Hogwarts dining area! lol

  • @Sinnerific the "Hogwarts" dining area is actually in Oxford University, England.

  • Theres about three diffrent miss marples arnt there? lol So many diffrent ones

  • @jackolantyrn356 they all wear hats, say "dear" and wear tweed underwear !

  • @tumadoireacht hahahaha Got that right mate though Not so sure bout the under ware...bit odd you know that mate

  • @jackolantyrn356 Joan Hickson(84-92), but Margaret Rutherford played Miss Marple in the first 'film,' and oddly enough hickson was a cook in that film. Angela Lansbury did one movie as well but then went on to Murder, She Wrote. Followed by Geraldine McEwan (2004-08). Finally Julia McKenzie (2009-present.). so a total of 5, even though 3 of them only had one film.

  • @dominicpradetto Ah! I see got it! Thanks mate! Haha I had trouble remembering who was who! Thanks

  • daaaamn joan collins looks ollllld here :s

  • @RanziR Yes, Joan does look old, but would you believe she's in her late 70s?!! Not too shabby, considering...

  • @dustandflies i'd do her.....
