  • I would also add that from the reviews I have read & some comments here, it seems the sub-title is a little controversial for some when clearly it is used in the Alvin Toffler 'Techno-Rebels' sense from his 1980 book 'The Third Wave' which is where Electrifyin' Mojo and then Juan Atkins and the Detroit pioneers appropriated the phrase for their music. It is the same principle William Gibson encapsulates in his phrase "the street finds its own uses for things" from his Burning Chrome novel.

  • As a fully paid up member of the terminally unhip, it has only been since the 2008 release of Haackula was I aware of his existence at all, a huge cultural oversight on my part and I am really looking forward to seeing this doc. As the above link no longer works I wonder if there is anywhere I can purchase this from..ie put a new link up please!

  • But he's right. It IS annoying boom boom

  • this guy is obsly a complete moron. making a movie about bruce and at the same time talking about techno as annoying boom boom music. come on!

  • @shrum333 No you come on! A lot of people disregard techno becuz the vast majority they hear are repetitive effect-reliant simple boring melodies. Bruce haacks msuic kills the techno of today.

  • "the root of evil, is boredom" dang...this guy is so deep... I LOVE it!

    delicious beats.

  • Haack = A genius overall... beyond light years!...

Anagnos is very "tripped" with him!!!

  • @andreabubus thank you for listening

  • Jesus! this guy was a naif crazy sychedelic 60's freak! Electronic music was in the hands of Stockhausen, berio, cage, etc by that time...this looks like "Mr.Ed" of music...but I love this crazy people! probably have the most weird and incedible vinyl record's covers

  • @legatou "Mr.Ed" of music" Is the best description of Haack That I've come across. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan.

  • This dude is wearing a Bruce Haack t-shirt! Where do you get those? Do you think he made it himself?

  • @Thisisreligion yep!

    instruments

  • Bruce Haack was one of the greatest!

Techno is annoying? Phillip Anagnos is annoying! We don't need anymore fruitcakes like Tom Cruise giving interviews and such. I think Bruce may be Phillip Anagnos's Hubbard.

  • unlike l ron hubbard, bruce haack was NOT a charlatan. (he wasn't even a hack.)

  • This doc IS a must see. It is on the Documentary channel from time to time.
