  • Almost sounds like black metal, now... :P I'd still love it, if it was!

  • Chuck neglected the pinky before it was cool.

  • Agree. I was listening to 'Trapped in a Corner Live' and it was like I was seeing the influence of jazz on its composition. Nothing surprising, to mention, since musicians draw lots of influences and techniques. What surprised me was how it contributed to good (death) metal.

  • R.I.P. Chuck 10 years today.

  • SIMPLEMENTE DEATH ES LO MEJOR!! Y CHUCK ES EL EMPERADORR!

  • I was there...what a great concert!!!

  • @78morgoth You lucky bastard...

  • Sean reinert > Richard Christy

  • A LIVING HELL,HAS BEGUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN...

  • 1:25 wth? hahaha

  • man these riffs are killer

  • A love song.

  • Did Chuck become unable to do growls or sumthin? I dig the highs, but on the low songs he still did em with high screems.

  • @seedofcorruptionmtl well I know that he was having pain in his throat caused by harsh vocals. He changed his vocal style to try to find something more comfortable. Although as an extreme metal vocalist myself I would think that the high screams would hurt more, but I would never really know because I can't get that high lol.

  • @Beamoxc I just posted on another vid about how his voice got higher after this album. I think it was manipulated in the studio to sound lower. Not sure though.

  • Why are they watering people ?

  • @WateverBr You've never been to metal concert were you? :P

  • @Theone1152 A lot of concerts but never in festivals =/

  • Kick Ass !!!!

  • @TheMattTrivium no, i merely meannt that you cant be that fast naturally, you have to have great technique.

  • @TheMattTrivium George Kollias is also very technical... That kind of speed cannot be achieved without "cheating".

  • ths a dvd .??? wats it called i want it

  • When I listen to DEATH on my stereo I always feel it like something fictional. I mean, their music is so Great that doesn't compromise in real standards. However, I see them playing their masterpieces LIVE and I always find it hard to believe that those SUICIDE MACHINES are real humans living on this planet!

  • @ThrashoDeath

I got the same impression as you dude

  • Amazing band. Who agrees ? :)

  • he definetly screamed his voice to shit..but it still sounds like chuck, so i don't complain :)

  • Chuck was an unbelievable songwriter

Death metal bands should take a tip. It's not always about technicality and brutality burns out fast... Arrangement and melody seems to be lost these days in drop-A deathcore trendy crap.

  • @VisceralVoids Your comment made me pause and think. Thank you, sir.

  • @VisceralVoids Quite right, these emo/deathcore/grinddeath kill all the reality and possibility for a broad spectrumed emotional response from an audience ( Or its just me and these guys have really good tastes). These guys are geniuses.\m/

  • what album is this song off of?

  • @Rattlehead1818

    Human

  • Fuck yes!

  • What does Chuck do at 3:28?

  • @mrocdp turned up the guitar volume

  • @mrocdp no way, what he does is muting the strings playing harmonics through 'em, he does it on live in L.A., also before the Pull The Plug solo...

  • @TTyuyTT Thanks, I knew he did something different that tuning up the volume

  • Richard Christy is so underrated.

  • Check out the mosh pit at 00:51

  • Fuckin Hell, Chuck was ready to kill on this one! HAHA!

  • For those who think this was recorded when Chuck was fighting cancer it wasn't diagnosed until 1999.

    According to wikipedia.

  • chuck wasnt sick at this time i dont think

  • 4 people who clicked dislike hope you fuckin die

  • am I the only one that likes Chuck's later screaming then what he used to do?

  • @SlayerMaidenEnemy I like it better too, more techincal and it simply sounds better :P On ITP the growling is pretty good too.

  • @SlayerMaidenEnemy I like both types of delivery they sound great which ever way chuck delivers it.

  • @SlayerMaidenEnemy imo, they were all good except for on symbolic.

  • @thychaos nah dude

    every death album is good

and symbolic was one of their best albums

  • @ChuckSchuldiner14753 im talking about the vocals.

  • @thychaos oh... either way i still think symbolic had great vocals...

  • Comment removed

  • Chucks voice is definitely on another level at this point in time, how many other people can play guitar AND sound like death creeping up your spine WHILE fighting with chemo and cancer of the brain. Give the man some well deserved props.

  • Chuck is a legend and just not given the credit he truly deserves by a lot of todays "metal" bands....

  • hey 78morgoth if u were really thr then u lived ur life wht other can only dream about

  • well...for me i prefer his voice from 95 on. It was like when he moved his vocals up a register the skill level metaphorically went up a "register" as well. Symbolic and TSOP have the most challenging leads and melodic parts out of all the great songs Schuldiner ever wrote. May his music live in all of as. May he R.I.P

  • Pretty much he sucks live but he definitely kills the competition with his psychological metal. Favorite line "Close your eyes and imagine to be without what we take for granted every time we open our eyes" it really puts you in a sense to where you are nothing compared to the rest of the world and are really just a human. Hence the title of the album.

  • I was there! thanks Chuck! we all will reunite some day ;-)

  • *****

  • damn! i only wish i could have watched them live..

  • his voice was the best end of discution

  • I just realized the drummer isnt using double bass...pftt

  • @jonnyl9410 yeah it pisses me off a bit on flesh and the power it holds...

  • i think Ibanez made an rip off version of Chucks BC Rich guitar

  • Hey,

do you mean the IBANEZ XP300FXB?

  • @Schlorenz yea

  • Yeah you´re right but i think the Jackson JS-30 WR BLK looks quite more similar to the BC Rich of Chuck than the Ibanez ;-)

  • @Schlorenz

    no man, BC RICH STEALTH

  • His voice really isnt that bad guys

  • chuck schuldiner was simply amazing. we miss you chuck, but you will live on through your music always.

  • what happen did he quit the band did he die what happend

  • Chuck Schuldiner had such a smooth vibrato. That is unheard of in metal guitariststs.

  • I love Richard Christies drumming

  • @777shaitan666 Yeah, Richard Christy is definitely one of my favourite drummers.

  • richard is the best man

  • I've played a dinky like that...haha... EVERYONE!!!

I don't care what you are listening to this through, turn up the bass ALL the way. And put the volume through the roof. It's like I was there! There's a fucking concert in my living room!!!!

  • Death is the best band ever at live , R.I.P Chuck

  • HOLY CHUCK!!!! do people use that relly. im gonna use it.... ALOT!! :)

  • 2:05 dude getting sprayed lol I love Chuck

  • HOLY CHUCK!!!

    Awesome.

  • What's with 1:28 , wet t-shirt contests?

  • hah it was probably just really hot....

  • Excellent... Nothing more to say

  • Hmm... I guess i never really thought of that song that way. I always thought he was talking about one person. Thank you for putting that into perspective for me. RIP Chuck! \m/

  • Chuck's lyrics were about life in general. Altering the Future talks about abortion, I think.

  • @KillerMetalUploads isnt this song about discrimination against gays and people that just have a different way of expressing thereselfs

  • @patrickledford420 I think it´s about siamese twins...

  • @KillerMetalUploads i thought it was about conjoined twins

  • @blazereef it is about conjoined twins

  • I like all of Chuck's vocal styles, all of them are amazing. Chuck is a person we should all aspire to be, kind, open minded... it's just that it's hard to be that because most people in this world are major assholes that you can't even deal with. RIP Chuck

  • I have the album "Human" and i have to agree that on the album Chucks voice is much better.

But just look how well he plays those solos man! Just the same as on the album, even faster!

Human is my favourite Death album!

Such a shame he passed away. R.I.P. Chuck

  • lol :28

  • his voice was unique on the first 5 albums but then for some reason he had to change it which sucks but his still GOD!

  • how about strain and deteriorating health, will do it to you

  • the first 5 albums sounded like Jeff Becera (which isn't a bad thing) and then health problems caused by a tumor forced him to change his vocal style. His voice was unique on the last 2 albums.

I personally think both vocal styles were AWESOME

  • There is no constant members in Death. Death=Chuck and all of HIS ideas only

  • this band could get a new singer, or at least should have when chuck was still around, because now thats hes not there can never be death. as killer metaluploads said chuck is death, he is the only member that was steady throughout all of death, kind of like megadeth isnt megadeth with no dave

  • Chuck's voice is fucked here, probably his illness too. He sounds like crap, no offense.

  • I'd have to agree.

    Chuck's voice sucked after 1995.

  • I don't know man, I've always been fine with his voice old and new.

  • same

  • @Cagedand3nRaged Same here. Chuck is a god in everyway musically that anyone could be. They are just being hater's because they are jealous of chucks godliness

  • @Cagedand3nRaged Death is Death right? no matter the vocal style of Chuck :D

  • I actually liked but it sound like was in strain but their high pitch vocals they came from black metal bands

  • @KillerMetalUploads

Chuck's voice at the Sound of Perseverance period was the best of his career. It's not that awful barking like with today's bands. I mean it when I say that it really turned into a refined scream here.

  • Not really i actually enjoy it sounds like black metal and death had a baby, the vocals sound black metalish!

  • I think his voice was best on individual... But I still tink it's wicked on every album... Sound of perseverance was maybe a bit to high, but It was still good.

  • To me it sound fucking kickass what do you think there high pitch vocals man there suppose to sound screcchy man!

  • i thought he just decided he wanted his voice higher i never knew it was because of his illness, but i like his high voice more. i say it sound sick as fuck!

  • His vioce may have been fucked up...but if you listen to this, the passion counts, and what I hear is a man. A man screaming Death Metal. So...his voice was amazing. Before his illness after his illness, even likely the last words he had before he died probably would've been music to our ears. Easily the most important addition to Death Metal.

  • his speaking voice wasn't affected at all, his death-vocals were altered because it hurt his neck to sing the way he used to on Human and such. But you're totally right, it's the passion that counts, and Chuck had so much passion in his playing and singing. That's what makes Death amazingly powerful

  • And he was a trooper. he played music until his final days. Not everyone would do that. The world is a little worse without his input.

  • This Live version sounds so different from the album but yet it is pulled off with ease.. Chuck is shreddin in this song.

  • Hell yea!

  • Chuck Schuldiner was Death.

Chuck died, Death died with him...

  • you think the solo is rewritten or improvised?

  • I have no idea... But maybe it's improvised.

  • chuck seems to improvise around established themes

  • You are probably right.

  • That last part gave me chiils...awesome!

  • yeah if yoou type death on limewire death for a cutie comes up it sucks

anyhow try downloading ares to download music better search results but a little slower

  • well you should but the album or song name too i got a file of "The Philosopher" from LimeWire

  • One of my friends downloaded their discography (@ 320 kbps) on Ares. So, I guess that it's better if you use Ares, or maybe you should buy the original albums, it would be much better. ;)

  • I know brroooo,that sucks

Thats why you buy cds hahah I already have all of them!!

  • Me too. :D

  • yeah unless it a used music store you cant really find them here

  • i try all i found was the humanalmbum but it was used and i already have it

  • Ah...okay.

  • yeah ive tried but i have no luck with torrents oh well ie got ots of their songs

  • Ouch, well, I don't need torrents because I have their stuff. You should buy the albums if you get the chance.

  • \m/ PURE METAL 5/5

  • no just type in their albums, if you type in death it just comes as death cab for cutie ive gotten 30-40 songs off limewire by them

  • It's easier if you download their albums from a torrent.

  • Their a hard band to get into cause limewire does not know them that well and their cds are fuckin rare. :(

  • Boooo </3

*goes back to My Chemical Romance*
