@Pazpesh1 the flashsideways is the purgatory period where everyone is doing what they wanted to do, or living their dream...They are there to remember, and move on. I'm guessing desmond found this out and needed to get everyone else to remember somehow.

I've just realised that the piece Daniel is playing is a classical variation on the parting and gathering theme heard when both rose and bernard are reunited in season 2 and when the ajira plane leaves the island in the series finale. I take my hat off to Michael Giacchino I really do! Genius.

@gumby2440 It's not just David, many other ancillary characters like Locke's woman (Katy Segal) who we saw in the previous season seems to become irrelevant to Locke after he remembers. Most people I talk to don't seem to care but for me I just found it odd that Jack would up and leave someone he just found peace with.
