There was a time that Sinead was booed in her concert because of her ripping of the Pope's picture. She reportedly cried at that time. She protested against the child abuse in the clergy.
This song originally comes from a Marian hymn sung to the Virgin Mary at Lourdes,France. Lourdes is where a shrine was bulit after she appeared in the 19th century to Bernadette Soubirous. At the shrine there's also a spring where many miraculous cures have been reported. It is believed that Abbe Gaignet wrote the hymn to the tune of a traditional Pyrenean tune.It was later translated into the English 'Immaculate Mary'.It remains one of the most revered hymns in honor of Mary in Catholicism.
I LOVE IT!!! I've Heard Sinead Do This Song In Latin, But I've NEVER Heard This Version Before!!! Is It From A Film Or Church Ceremony??? I Hear People Talking And A Car Drive By??? I'm REALLY Curious To Know Where This Song Came From. Does Anyone Know???

@whillyem This version is from a film called Hush-a-Bye, Baby (Margo Harkin, 1989). Sinéad O'Connor plays a small part in it!
