  • I think this was how FUNimation would have done the intro if they had thought about doing it.

  • you know, I think

  • You kow,

  • haha good ol memories of the tagalog dub

  • SPARKING

  • Gino Padilla sounded like a Funimation Actor BEFORE Funimation itself was Born.

  • Outside the Tagalog rendition of the MKRE opening soundtrack, this rendition of DBZ's soundtrack has got to be the best rendition ever done by a Filipino outfit.

  • @tigrexlaw since animes in the Philippines are not being release on DVD, it is not prioritized, hindi daw kasi trabaho ng dubbers yan, ang trabaho lang nila ay mag-dub ng series from Japanese to English or Tagalog version, isa pa useless rin yun dahil both GMA and ABS ALWAYS cut the opening/ending/title screen and even shortened the 20minute runtime of anime (no op/ed included on 20m) to a mere 15minute or worst even less... sa cable mo lang sila mapapanood ng buo...

  • this made me cry for my childhood :'(

  • I remember I used to have this on cassette...ahh childhood memories

  • if you hear Hironobu Kageyam and Gino Padilla lyrics. their lyrics is completely different with each other

  • Gino Padilla's version is great very,,,..

  • go filipinos!!!

  • Thank you the place i was cereated lol

  • this guy sings good

  • I still like the Japanese Version though but its good nonetheless.

  • aw... ang ganda huhu nakakaiyak galing tlg ng english versions ng dragonball z... nasan na kaya sina gino padilla??

  • Ah yes, I remember this english version of Cha-la Head Cha-la. It was sang by our very own filipino singer, Gino Padilla. This version was made for the Dragon Ball Z movie shown back in the Philippines. The movie was actually made out from 2 films of Dragon Ball Z, Cooler's Revenge and Return of Cooler.

Gino Padilla's version was not that very hyper compare to the original, but nonetheless it was really good. I actually love listening to this song when I was a kid (^^)

  • this opening is better than their first one

  • Gino Padilla.

  • i love this version :D

  • astig to ha :)

    dbz for life

  • Pretty good!!

  • hey guys watch videos from

    cutedude13

  • awesome!

  • pinoy power!!!!!

  • I wonder if anyone has any other clips of the Filipino "Age of Wonder" dub.

  • Where did you get this!?

  • talagang miss ko na ang anime na to... madami kaseng mga suntok, sipa at mga iba pang bagay

Translation: I really miss this anime... there's many punches, kicks and other things.

  • I cried manly tears.

  • does anyone have any episode of the philippine version of dragonball z (eng dub)

  • u spelled "Philipino" in the description wrong. it's Filipino. i should know i from the Philippines and even today they show these episodes, some movies of DBZ. Us Filipino's never seem to get tired of the action of these episodes

  • Check out the new Dragon ball is call Dragon ball Kai on youtube

  • Is up to you mgbenz. I like Dragon ball not Mari mar. I am a big Dragon ball fan

  • ... i still have the original CD of the soundtrack.. it doesn't have any scratches yet.. it was preserved for all these years.. the case is still good as new... because i know there will be a time that someday it will be recalled...

  • This song Rocks!

  • i love this version of cha la head chala it makes me fill so...well...carefree!

  • Ah memories! I watched the Philippine Dub as a kid, way before the American Dubs came out. Hehehehe good times ^_^

  • @KiddSketch British = Bid Green

    Canadian = Ocean

    Funimation = American/International

  • *now surpassed*

  • Oh, man, this brings back memories...

This was attached to a ridiculous fandub of movie 6 I downloaded over 33.6 modem back in the day. Took days and days of GOZilla downloading to finally get it, and then watch it over and over again in 80kbos rm.

All that is not surpassed by YouTube!

    Thanks!

  • yeah rock the dragon was gay

  • Love it!!!

  • Didnt know this existed in english!!!!!!!!!!:-D

  • I love this version so much! I actually prefer it over the Japanese version! ^____^

    <333 Gino Padilla

  • german intro rulez

  • i love this opening (:

  • It's a bit slower-paced than the Japanese version, but it's pretty dang good. Better than the 1st English version if you ask me.

  • yeah I totally agree.

  • There are several faster versions of this song on Youtube that I've found, this is still very nice though, probably one of the only Dub songs I'm actually really fond of.

  • Lov'it

  • This guy's voice is like beer... smooth.

  • A bit too slow paced, but the lyrics are fantastic.

  • better than the English version

  • too slow.. but still cool

  • it's very slow

  • The singers voice makes it slow and it acctaly doesn't sound that bad as it slow. if this voice was used too make it fast... it wouldn't as good

  • This sounds great. I wish FUNimation redubbed the Japanese songs for DBZ.

  • I just heard the other Philipino version for this song. Sounds awful.

  • is that the one that sounds like kids are singing it?

  • never heard of it....

    i just know this one....

gino padilla is very good singer..XD

  • i have full version

  • I'm just gonna quote hitthefloor729

"according to my reasearch: "Head-Cha-La is actually a rough English-ization of the Japanese slang word "hetchara," which roughly means "it's no problem" or "I can handle it.""

so, in a way, it relates to Goku's optimistic personality in the anime."

Hearing this made me wanna watch again and remember my childhood days, ooh so nostalgic.. Goku ftw..

  • Wow this is greatest version of cha la head cha la i've ever heard other than jap ver because its in english version. English = International

  • Me suena algo emotiva, prefiero la latina que es más fuerte.

    Pero esta linda también ^^

  • still think the brasilian version the best 1

  • the Philippines has the best version of chal head chala

  • I gotta agree, this song>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rock the Dragon

  • You know HipHop24Seven2 i like

this song opening of the Dragon ball Z

    opening because is cool.

But the Marimar songs is stupid

  • Please don't make me remember that Marimar song. I had to hear it almost everyday bec. my parents and relatives loved to watch that soap. :(

  • Oh wow I didn't know they released this version. When I was living in the Philippines, I watched DBZ and it had the original Japanese theme music. I guess eventually they came out with this one.

  • this was made for movies 5 and 6 in philipene according to the side bar

  • oh okay movie versions

  • This song is done By Gino Padilla....

  • this song was the american ??? is better than [English] DBZ OP1 - Cha-La-Head-Cha-La

  • not american, filipino version but the guy who sings it in english lyrics. (Philippines is the biggest English speaking country in asia)

  • This song is done by Gino Padilla something....

  • you got that right.

  • its sounds better than in german ;)

  • the song is great :)! Who sings it?

  • I love this song. It reminds me of GT, which had the best music.

  • Agree with the first part, not the second. No Kageyama in GT which = lose

  • It's pretty, but can't beat Kageyama!

  • nice dub.. well i'm from philippines =)

    brings back memories

  • that was actually pretty good it should have been used in the uncut box sets instead of the instrumental song that is completely different. The only thing was it was missing SPARKING!!!

  • i si no kiero? jejeje

    Buena la cancion.

    If i don't want?

    Good the song!!!

I love Dragon bAll, aaaaaaaaa... for ever...

  • This is very good, but I hear that Hironobu Kageyama (singer for the japanese version) released this song in English in one of his albums in the 90s. O_o

  • Yes, there's an English version of this song and "We gotta power" from the original author.

The problem is that it's in "Engrish" (poorly pronounced english from japan). there are times that you can't make out the words properly.

So when it comes to his trademark songs I prefer to hear them in his original language.

  • @hitthefloor729 are you a filipino or something?

  • @vince5456 No, I'm not.

  • this song was not used in the 90's airing of the dragonball in the philippines but on the local theatrical release of dragonball z the movie 5 & 6.

  • haha i remember this back in the philipines. good tim-...well the show was good :)

  • wow this sounds so good! I've never heard of this version before...

  • Peanut butter magic surprise!

  • SPARKING!

  • i used listen to this song alot when i was little brings back memories

  • the person could have sing much faster and hardcore and the lyrics should hve just stayed the same but its still awesome I give it 5\5

  • i think with the echo its better

  • In my last comment, I for got to say "If they used it for American version."

  • This is the best theme for the american version of the show. To bad they didn't actually use it though.

  • this is way better than the US version

  • Yeah, this would be the best one, this should've been used when the freeza saga was aired in philippine tv, gma 7.

  • DBZ Rules Pinoyz Rules!!!

  • where can i get this version of the song?

  • This is the best version of Cha La Head Cha La in the world. Gino Padilla is the one who's singing :) All those who made a remake of Cha La Head Cha La should listen to this version (Gino Padilla's)

  • WOW YOUR ARE SO COOL MAN !!! GREAT WORK !!! and you are so right .. they should have made an american english Version from CHALA HEAD CHALA !!! its the greatest SONG ever made for a Series ... so .... thanks for sharing it with us like that .... DB FOREVER !!! : )

  • Cool

  • 100X better than the American version...

  • @kenry20 hear latinos version is the best !!

  • MAN THATS GREAT!

    do YOU made it? o.O

  • No. Read the comment that I wrote.

  • no, he did not make it, its a opening of english dragon ball z on philippines

  • wow! this...was...actually nice!

  • I did. It was in my old PC, but it died on me.

  • i wish you have the complete version

  • Google: Songs of a High Spirited Saga to find this (in its fullness) and other dbz songs in english.

  • Super!!!!

  • This sure beats the "Dan Dan" english version.

  • kwl

  • i mean it did not showed up in channel 9 but it was showed in channel 7

  • when i was 2 years old, i live in philippines and also see or watch this anime, i think the channel is channel 9 and my uncle told me that this anime was canceled because there was a strong typhoon and after that typhoon, this anime did not show up again.....i think it is already in vegitta saga....SORRY about my grammar, i am not used to speak in english ^_^

  • anyone know where I can get this version?

  • this was released in Manila in July 1996, for the premiere dbz movie 5&6 combined and dubbed as Dragon Ball Z: The Greatest Rival!!! i was then 9 yrs old and i watched in theaters! ;)

  • In America you'd never have animation movies ,or Japanese monster films for that matter, we only had The first 3 Pokemon movies, Digimon, and Transformers(1986), you are really lucky that you can see these kind of movies at your theaters over there, it makes me angry that we have these B movies (Its 50/50) and how the majority are so spoiled(including me) with sfx that we often think thats all it needs. I woke up realizing that movies can educate(Godzilla(The Original). But once in a while get.

  • can u put your newgrounds videos on this site

  • ur hadouken dude off of newgrounds?

  • Yes I am, I confirmed this on Newgrounds last year.

  • Cha la...head cha la! ACK! It's now stuck in my head!

  • I like this better than the other one. ._.;

  • This is REALLY GOOD :) thanks for uploading although I LOVE Rock the Dragon cause I am more a fan of rock music still I think this is really good 5/5 good job on simply finding this :)

  • Rock The Dragon doesn't relate much to DBZ as Cha-La-Head-Cha-La does.

The original song's lyrics talk about always being optimistic during difficult times, this relates perfectly to Goku's personality.

Rock The Dragon, however, is pointless rock music that just made the English dub look "more awesome"(yet very cheezy) to younger viewers and had nothing to do with the series at all.

In the end, it's all about the viewer's taste in music of course.

  • yes and you're right about the young viewers thing cause I first saw DBZ in english when I was 5 or 6 hahaha :) now I am more of a broad anime fan who has seen the jap version as well and also many other anime but at the time I loved the opening for some reason hahaha :) although again this version is pure AWESOMENESS :)

  • the singer is Gino Padilla...("_.) Kawaii!

  • pls tell me where did you downloaded this song pls

  • extremely cheesy

  • Coomos Dias

  • The singer for this version has an awesome voice with a lot of power behind it. This is my favorite DBZ opening theme next to the Italian one.

  • It's a great song in english or Japanese, but I think I would like it better if they stayed closer to the original lyrics.

  • agreed

  • this is what i been talking about this version have the power the pasion this is better than the other one in english "american versin i guess"japanese, filippino and latino are the best songs

  • better than the other english

  • gino padilla!! weeeee

  • Watching that brings back memories. Times have changed and gone by so quickly.

  • Overall, I still prefer the Japanese version of this song, but as an American, it's pretty cool to hear an English version of the song. The singer isn't half bad.

  • in spanish it sounds better

  • SPARKING!

    Wait, what?

  • I know, it's missing the "SPARKING!" quote near the end, but it's still decent.

  • Yeah, yeah, I'm not complaining. In fact, I really like this song. Thanks for uploading!

  • actually we filipinos are kinda very emphasized with R.. instead of spaaaking on song it will be spaRRking,, which is bad. so i guess they avoided that~

  • your still lucky bastards for havin this opener!

  • Best version EVAR!

  • there is a full version of this i have a cassette tape before but its gone =x

  • i hope gino padilla made a "you got power" opening too

  • Is there anyway I can download the song into my IPod?

  • were can I download this version??(mp3)

    can sb please tell me?!

  • This should be for the DBZ video games!

  • Where do we get the full version? Can you please tell us?

  • Oh my god, how old was I when this came out? I had all the merchandise. xD I have to admit, the dubs we have of Dragonball are really good. Vegeta screaming in Filipino is oddly appropriate.

  • i think theres a part of this thats not from any opening, but from a dragonball movie..the part with dr gero? thats who it looks like..

  • actually, as I stated in the author's comments, I edited two Cha-la openings to fit the song´s pacing. The first opening shows Nappa and Vegeta during the Saiyan saga while the 2nd one shows Dr. Gero's robots being "digitally" built from the android saga.

  • Oh ok then. thanks for clarifying that.
