saw this movie in my counter culture class about the beat generation and I had to see it again. Bill Burroughs is a literary and cultural revolutionary. His actions along with Ginsberg (sorry if i spelled that wrong) and Kerouac helped start the hippie movement and shape the way we think and do things today. So for all of you who dont understand, just read some of his books like the Nova series or the Naked Lunch. His ideas are a little out of our time but im sure you will understand them.
lol - I love that the comments on this video are either people getting pretentious about knowing a few facts about the film, or people getting angry because they don't understand the point. It adds to the amusement for me.

Call me close-minded, but this is as much "art" as "Twinkle Twinkle" is poetic. Sure, it does meet the criteria that's accepted by the masses, but it's void of thought and it's cryptic dialouge holds no metaphorical nor insightful meaning, and while the idea is fairly original and unseen, lacks creativity.
In other words- You call switching voices and memorizing weird shit is art? Get a life.
Most likely, youre introduction to both Cutups, scientology and the idea of art as mass hypnotization hasnt happened. Cryptic dialogue fades with even the slightest investigation into WHY this series of films was made, along with the natural conclusion of the Burroughs/Gysin Cutups.I have a life, and this is brilliant work
well you have to realize that sort of thing didn't fuckin EXIST at the time, it's VERY groundbreaking for its time you know. and that is william burroughs, read some of this stuff, then go back and watch this, and you'll realize what a strong lack of insight and perception you have.
all of that, if you have the bare minimum intelligence necessary to complete those tasks, which i highly doubt.

It's avant-garde. It doesn't need a meaning or grand metaphorical message.

Dull and completely pointless. Sometimes people just have way too much time on their hands.

it's pointless to you because you don't understand the references due to your lack of culture.

Pointless? YES pointless.
maybe that's the point.
maybe it's not.
But WHYWHYWHY
do you fucking idiots feel the need to leave any deconstructive comments
all over this wonderful unifying network?
Who wants to help me figure out how to
explode the happily culture-deprived dumbasses into space?

@kleptomessiah The point is that all points have their own point of pointlessness.
