  • @joethetechiewiipsp have u found a solution to get airdrop back? :/

  • @ayofg123 Not yet! Sorry buddy :)

  • Anyway to go back to the old driver? It made mine where it only connects manually??

  • Never mind for the Airdrop... however I've finally got my connexion back!!! Thank you so much for this solution!!! Cheers

  • If one were to want it to go back, how would I'd go about that? Airdrop and kext?

  • thank you it works great on 10.7.3!

  • THANKS SOOOO MUCH !!! ok I have a macbook 09 running Mac osx lion and all of a sudden no wireless.. did a search watched about 5 videos and then you and boom fixed YOU ROC >>Thx thanks thx!!!

  • @callmeleelee No problem! Glad I could help! :)

  • This works for me but i seem to have lost my air drop.

  • @Paulromain1 Yeah, that happens. I didn't realise until after I performed the operation. I've yet to find a solution to the issue. If I do, I'll be sure to let you know.

  • Heya, Tried this on my late 2009 iMac and i'm still getting the same issue. I think the problem may be that I updated to 10.7.2 before trying this (via ethernet cable). Would this have any effect do you think?? Also does anyone remember if it asks what sort of WiFi card is in the Mac on Lion installation??

  • @CakeyCakeFace Each time you upgrade to a new version of Mac OS X Lion, you'll have to re-run the programme. This should fix your issues.

  • did not work iMac 2011

  • @Pyro2010x As I said in this video, this will work with the 2009 iMac!

  • @joethetechiewiipsp Still get wifi issues

  • hi, im new to mac, i bought the latest macbook pro, 15 inch , and then i saw that my wifi conection was too slow in my mac, but in my old windows notebook it was normal, then i saw your video, follow all the steps, reboot but the speed connection its the same thing, slow :/, im desperate i didnt find a solution.. can you help me please..

  • @Jaimeicz This tutorial won't help with speeds. It will only help if your connection keeps cutting out.

  • Did this fix on a 24-inch Mid 2007 iMac, assuming it was a similar driver software. Other computers on the network generated by the iMac don't pick up on the shared internet anymore.

  • Please tell this can be resolved

  • @Happieshoper You'll have to reinstall Lion. You should have checked that your machine had the correct WiFi card in it before performing this operation.

  • Didn't work! No says no AirPort card installed

  • My problem is fixed, after working my ass of to find a good solution! Thank you Rys and Joe for promoting!

  • thanks for the help. it seemingly worked for random dropping, but now it drops after every sleep.

  • Hey Joe, thanks for the video!!

I was really hoping it'd help my problem... before applying this patch I could see I had Atheros 9380: 4.0... and after applying the patch and rebooting, I still see the same v.4.0...

I use a 27" iMac, from May 2011... any ideas why?

It's so frustrating I could kill Steve Jobs, oh wait... (only joking... :)

    Cheers!

  • @elenapilatti I don't know why that would be. I apologise.

  • For the moment, this link works perfect.

Upgraded 2 weeks ago to Lion and I went completely mental due to the wi-fi malfunction.

Took me a while to find the right video that helped me with this problem.

    This one did.

    Big thanks from Holland

  • Thanks, sorted me out. By the way, where did you get your desk top wallpaper from?

  • @MrRCJIM Wallpaper was from Mr @emkwan :)

  • having problems with conecting to wifi its say "connection timeout" please help

  • @TJfrost1005d I sometimes get this issue. Reset your router, that may help.

  • @joethetechiewiipsp i did.......my 3ds and ps3 can connect to the wifi but my macbook doesnt work

  • @TJfrost1005d Dunno why that would be. Take it into an Apple store and explain your issue.

  • @TJfrost1005d mee to!! I need help

  • Doesn't work for broadcom.

  • It worked for me,it's been 2 days trying to figure out how to get rid of this annoyng problem through forums, then I figuered out that I must serch in youtube. thanks a lot!

    2010 iMac 21.5"

  • i have the same problem apple support is stupid that what i told them is a software problem is os x lion not my damn router or an environmental issue.. all the other computers work fine at my house on my router even my mac until i upgraded to lion...

  • Din't work for me. I still have wifi issue. Macbook Air 1.6Ghz Omte; Cre 2 Duo. I may downgrade to snow leopard soon if I don't find a solution.

  • i hope this fix's this problem its really frustrating :( thanks for the help ill let you guys know if this works :) thanks again

  • bro only problem now is that i must connect to my wifi each time i open my macbook pro

  • @evilblackrolf Just set your Network preferences to automatically connect.

  • @joethetechiewiipsp ohh cool well really thank you now its awesome like that!!!!!!

  • IT WORKS !!! IT WORKS !!! WITH THE POWERRR OF MY MIND

  • It didn't work on my MBAir =/ Also, I can't upgrade again by installing Lion again since the App store tells me 'my version is more recent and therefore I'd first have to delete my current 'app' before re-installing Lion'. Any ideas!? My internet should be fast... and it really sucks.

  • @zolapoe I actually made a tutorial going over how to reinstall Lion from the Mac App Store. Go onto my channe, and scroll down until you find the video - hopefully that will help! :)

  • @joethetechiewiipsp Thanks... I'd tried that. Problem is: since my version is more recent, the App store just won't install the version they have on the store. The message I get is: 'A newer version of this app is already installed on this computer'. Well, I don't really know what would change anyway: since the internet issue is basically the same post-downgrade, I don't think I should bother that much. It was just to be sure the system was back the way it was (as the change didn't help me...)

  • @zolapoe Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 was just released. If you upgrade to that via Software Update, it replaces the driver with V. 4 :)

  • @joethetechiewiipsp Thanks! =)

  • Nice job! :)

  • tried it and it didn't work. how do i go back to the 4.2?

  • @MiguelFHM Only way I can think is reinstalling Lion. What system are you using?

  • @joethetechiewiipsp i'm using the 15 inch early 2011 Macbook Pro

  • @joethetechiewiipsp What if it's Lion already? – and worse: the latest version so that App Store's won't install.

  • @joethetechiewiipsp hey now i gotta manually connect to the wifi why doesnt it connect automatically?

  • worked for me. Thanks a bunch.

  • @ckhang Great! Thanks! :D

  • @joethetechiewiipsp however one issue did arise...After I install and restarted my imac, my AirDrop was missing...I tried to find it with spotlight but there weren't any options. I went online but no answers. My iMac is the late '09 model and does have airdrop on Lion because I was just using airdrop during the past weekend. LMK if you or anyone here is having that same problem.

  • @ckhang Oh yeah, just realised that I'm having the same issue. Well, I wouldn't say it's an issue as of yet, because I don't use AirDrop because there's only on Mac in the house (mine). When Apple addresses this bug, they'll release an update to 10.7.1 which should then re-update the drive to 4.0 and hopefully it's then stable. Hope this helped!

  • @joethetechiewiipsp sigh, i guess I'll have to go back to the stone ages and transfer data via usb memory card...8[

  • @ckhang You can still set up a Public shared network folder on each of your Macs. That's how I transfer data to my PC from my Mac. Doing this works exactly the same as AirDrop but it's just a few more steps to set it up.

  • @joethetechiewiipsp yea i got the same issue ugh i hope apple fixes this shit soon

  • thanks bro i had this problem with my macbook pro 15 2011 ... now working like a charm...

  • @evilblackrolf Real glad I could help! :)

  • @joethetechiewiipsp that is not the same back round.

  • @thompsonwnage Oh right... It's on @emkwan's Facebook page :)

  • nice vido Joe and nice backroud where did you get it?

  • @lukethetechno It's on @emkwan's Facebook page :)

  • This happened on my Mid 2010, then it just fixed itself with an update

  • @LukesMacintosh Cool!
