God, I love this. I either listen to Amon Amarth or Black Sabbath's Heaven & Hell while playing this game; even though AA sings about Norse Mythology and Vikings, and GoW and GoWII is about Greek Mythology the two compliment each other well, they are all about the same mindset, SMASHING your foe into Oblivion and then some. My favorite AA tunes to jam out on GoW with is either Victorious March or Gods Of War Arise.

beowulf is a norse tale, but it was written in anglo-saxon, or old english, so the version we know of is actually from the saxons =]

There are a ton of Norse epics. Saga of the Volsungs, The Kalevala, etc. There's a really badass one about Thor fighting frost giants from Jötunheimr, using the Mjolnir.

You might want to clarify that this song is by Amon Amarth, not Dimmu, and that you used the same video for both songs?

The song is absolutely brutal, though. It was crazy live. If I wasn't making sure my girl wasn't doomed on the front rail I would have been making my scandinavian brothers proud in the pit.

That's what i meant: i used the same video. It's just that this video had "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse", by Dimmu. However, i think "Asator" by Amon Amarth fits much better. I wish i could see AA live.

I've seen them twice and they were easily one of my top 5 bands live. I'll be seeing them again in December. AMAZING. DEFINITELY do not hesitate to see them. It will be worth it.
