i can't make up my mind about her..i enjoy watching her vids & live shows..but on the other hand i can't feeling that she's trying a bit too hard to be different & a bit wacky..a bit fake i thinks!!
what's so bad bout it? there must be some extremes like her and björk and other. otherwise we would just have lathergic artists that aren't inspired by any extremes
i agree, i waited and have given her a chance before being skeptical but jeez dont believe the hype.. she has a whole team behind her, even if her music breaks the mold, it aint that good, being different is great but it aint a ticket into my heart. there are a handful of artists who genuinely deserve the exposure / investment, however trendy and risky she appears to be.. she is quite a safe bet for the label.
I got banned from commenting on her official uploaded videos by her "team", for highlighting the use of an un-credited sample of an old NY No wave track. Just trendy un-original bullshit really.

Wake up people, she's been repackaged, and churned out by a record company who spotted a niche market for a black female indie artist. DO YOU REALLY think her music/lyrics are any good or are you blinkered her image. Ebony knows that all of this complete fakery, her family and friends know too.

I thought she was one of the best looking girls on that show. And if she's making music now... so what! Just give her the benefit of the doubt. We'll soon see weather it's a fake n bake or the birth of another artist which can bring us something a bit different in this old samey pop world we live in.
I played on a festival bill with her last summer...she had an entourage, acted like a diva, took about 3 hours to soundcheck- which left us have 8 minutes to do ours. It left me thinking, who do you think you are? She didn't even have a record deal, let alone any fans outside of Shoreditch.
