I have the FG700S, got it because I wanted a guitar that I could take with me anywhere I go and not be terribly afraid of damaging it. The quality really is pretty amazing considering the price tag.
Thank you for your interest in Yamaha guitars. I visited both the Japan and China factories on our dealer tour, and yes, the production methods we saw in Japan are used in China, with the same attention to detail and quality. The L series guitars are an exceptional bargain!
I can vouch for the L series Chinese made....I used to want a Martin every day before I got my L series.....now I'm more than happy to wait and I wonder if I will ever need the Martin!
Martins are so expensive, i think I'll opt for a China made guitar. I have one Yamaha made in Taiwan and its just as good as any martins or fender.
