Calaf ist aber nicht so geeignet für seine Stimme, die ideal für lyrische Partien und auch für Belcanto ist.

@gotthelf100 Da stimme ich Ihnen zu. Die Arie ist halt sehr bekannt und gehört wohl deshalb zum Repertoire aller guten Tenöre. Die ganze Partie auf der Bühne zu singen, ist eine ganz andere Sache. Würde jeder Sänger nur in seinem Stimmfach singen, dann gäbe es nicht so viele zu früh verschlissene Sänger.

Wonderful rendition. And even more wonderful is the ' from Giacomo Puccini's opera "Turandot" (not really a rolehe considers performing), recorded in June 2008.' part.

You obviously know how to not hurt your voice. Stay with light Belcanto for Opera and do this only in recitals...

about this particular video: either the balance is distored because of poor recording device or the the orchestra goes bananas in the ending climax. I really don't find that kind of nuance necessary.
