I never offer to buy a woman a drink right off. Never have. It's always seemed like a poor approach; especially borne out by the way some women put too much stock in it. If she won't talk to ME for ME; I want no part of her.

My approach is usually to order a drink for myself nowhere near the woman I want to talk to. Then I will see if we can strike up a conversation while I nurse my drink.

If we're still talking when my drink is finished, I'll order another and ask her if she wants one.

Don't EVER buy a woman a drink. It doesn't matter how long you've talked to her. The dating scene should not be a haven for women to continue to get free things in every single situation. We need to put an end to that. Instead, flip the script on her, talk to her for a while and ask HER to buy YOU a drink. If she does then you've probably got a keeper on your hands.

I don't drink alcohol anymore like I used to in my service days. And I was told as a general rule that the "better" girls won't be found in bars. But not all bars are created equal. It's really the atmosphere.
