I've never heard of the split ender until this month. I have been watching several videos on youtube today. I would like to know since you posted this video, a few years have passed, do you still use it today? If so now that you have had it a while, what do you think of it? Has anything changed? Thank you.
@ansbach74 I apologize for the late response, but to answer your questions, I still have my splitender and I still use it. I barely started to use it again a few months ago. My hair is still natural, so I have to straighten it before use. I am still pleased with it.
@yoyoprincess94 no cuz on the website a girl with curly hair used it and the instructions never say 2 straighten it before u do it so u still could use it on our curly hair
This product is only really good if you wear your hair straight. The sensors would go crazy on coarse hair and just cut everything off. This device was designed for people who have naturally straight hair. We have to put our hair through some sort of straightening process to get any benefit out of this unit. It's a damn rip off. It's saying PRESS OR PROCESS YOUR HAIR!!
@dsmith019 - you're right...this product is only really good if you wear your hair straight...that's because this product was designed for people who wear their hair straight...otherwise it would say For Use On All Hair Types...in which case, I would agree with you in regards to it being a rip off..but if used by those it was intended for, it's not a rip off.
@dsmith019 well when you go to the stylist she straightnens your hair first b4 cuttung it ...it makes alot more sense to straighten it before cutting it so it would be even
@VaisaNacia: Hair grows at a rate of one half inch per month, or 6 inches per year. Using that as a guide, my hair grew as it was suppose to for the length of time I used it. It didn't make my hair grow. What it did was prevent split ends, which we all know promotes breakage, which in turn allowed me to obtain some length. When you trim your hair with shears, you tend to unnecessarily compromise your length by cutting off more than you need to. The Split Ender only cuts the split ends.
what about if my hair isn't layered and a strand has a split end that's riding up to the top will it be able to detect that and click it ALL off or will it just give it some little clip and it's still there?
@EmpressCarm It doesn't have a sensor. It delivers only the ends into the blades to snip the tips by 1/8" to 1/4", trimming the ends where burned, dry, damaged ends and split ends are more likely to be found.
@ChannelxVB: I apologize if I confused you more, but yes. Do whatever it is that you need to do to your hair first...just use the splitender before you style your hair...while it's still straight. It doesn't matter whether you have product in your hair or not, it won't affect your results. All it's doing is cutting your ends off. Hope I answered your question.
Wow! I like your video! I did not know it was something out like that. This is why I love You Tube. People can share things that they use or information that they know. Can you tell me were i can get one from?
@mya32189 : I bought mine years ago, so I'm not sure how you'd choose that plan. You'd have to get into contact with the company. It only clips the ends. I didn't notice my hair thinning with it.
@mya32189 I apologize for the late response. I don't work for them and have no idea about their payment plan options. I've had my product for about 7 years. And I didn't experience any thinning.
I only use it when my hair is strait...and I haven't had to replace the blades yet and I've had it for several years (but I haven't been using it religiously either). Hope that helps :0)

@mariateton0319 I really agree with you. Most naturals cant notice their split ends because their hair is curly

@VaisaNacia Hard to say because I didn't use it faithfully, however, when I did use it I noticed I retained some length after a few months of usage.

ChannelxVB 2 years ago
@ChannelxVB : It was best for me to use the tool with my hair straight. All it does is clip your ends, there's no heat involved.

my hair isnt straight; in order to straighten i need to flat iron it; and i put product in before i flat iron it. ..so would you still recommend it

does it cut evenly or does it just take the ends off
babydee23 2 years ago
No, it doesn't cut evenly. It just takes the split ends off. That's why I like it. I allows you to keep your length. Hope this helps :0)
