Bob Dylan, Bob Marley and other singer/songwriters were about the music and the words. Their messages were what propelled them. Of course, people like Mick Jagger, Robert Plant and other lead singers put on some kind of show, but not with the lights, dancing, etc. It is as if all of that stuff is to mask the music. I think is is weak.
