I remember the first time I heard this song was when I was 10 years old. My mother's best friend son had been killed in Viet Nam and we attended the funeral. I remember when we walked into the sanctuary the choir was singing this song and I've never forgotten it. This and Amazing Grace are my favorite religious songs and both are appropriate.

I remember hearing this on a youth trip when I was a teen. It has always been one of my favorites so I was excited to see it on the song list at the youth convention we were at. There had to be at least 2,000 people there all singing this with all the parts. I had to kneel and cry it was so beautiful, wish I could hear it again.
