Inline-6's can take high rpm long term, I am military and am stationed in germany, it is common for bmw I-6's to ride high rpms over 30 to 60 km/h, it doesn't hurt the engines as long as adequate cooling, oil consistency and transmission oils are changed regularly and maintenance is held up.. most cars have 300,000 (180,000miles) and you can still run the hell out of them without worry of blowing them apart. I saw a bmw that was still using the original engine with 1,724,814 km (1.04million)

If you use 5W40 Full synthetic oil, it can get as hot as 125 degrees before it will be dangerous.
