That water must get pretty hot in that black tank was that part of the plan? You can dig a pit get an old pool liner for it and place milk crates in it and cover with the rest of the liner then wood do this lowest part of the land that could serve for long periods of no rain. Dont have to install a pump right off but pumping would be the perferred method. Heck go old skool with a handled pump.
Good for you.. i have land around pecos and van horn.
butterfly roofs make some sense.. no gutters water comes off ONE area in the inverted V.

I have 2 tanks like that. You can move them around easy (empty). Watch the sharp screws under the cover rim.

We will either have enough storage eventually, or when we need water we will transfer it.
