4:39 I need to agree even after i got the map and the compass I had no idea of what to do or where to go(even after i just walkthrough of the whole thing). the only thing i honestly an truly liked about the dungeon boss
I'm not sure. Maybe I could give this game another shot. But a couple of the dungeons seem really poor, the graphics aren't bad but don't add anything, and the triforce shard hunting is a MAJOR flaw. But maybe I could give the game another try.
My friend told me if you put ur name as Zelda it translates the hyrulian language if your on your first play through. I'm not sure if its true since i don't own this game but if someone wants to try it go ahead and tell me the results :D
@kirbchu1 no actually when you beat the game they give you a option to replay the game with some differences one of the differences is the translation from what i heard
@crocasaur Yes but if you just started a new game and you say your name is Zelda, my friend has told me it translates, of course i cannot try this out since i dont have WW
this actually was the only zelda game that i didnt like it had the childish sort of look compared to oot just like how i feel for cod black ops is to cod mw2
i watched this basically to decide if i should but this game. end result: i'm not going out of my way, but the next time i go to play n trade or gamestop, ill be SURE to look for this.
I hated the sailing at first (i just play my gba for a few minutes till i'm at my destination) I also hated finding the 8 pieces of the triforce also. Took me 8 months to figure out that the last chart was on the ghost ship. Yes i had that chart that told me were the triforce charts were. Don't get me started on tingle that greedy basterd! At least he was of some help. Only 7 dungeons and they're way to easy. My least favorite zelda ever. Still a fun game and has great music.
This Zelda game should've got more fans. this beats Oot any day! You can do tons of things in this game you could not do in any other zelda game. Windwaker FTW!!!
@cjszero01 Actually, there are 7 dungeons: Dragon Roost Cavern, the Forbidden Woods, the Tower of the Gods, The Forbidden Fortress, (on account of the fact that it had both a mini boss and boss), The Earth Temple, Wind Temple, and Ganon's Tower
@cjszero01 Also, cjszero01, and this is not to insult or offend you, but the island count is actually 49 islands, or at the very least 49 island spaces. The map is a 7x7 grid, so the total number of islands should equal 49. The count just barely misses 50. Just thought you should know is all. :)
@cjszero01 wait how are there only 5 dungeons? 1- forsaken fortress 2- dragon roost cavern 3- forbidden woods 4- tower of gods 5- earth temple 6- wind temple your favorite :p no seriously there are 6 dungeons or am i wrong?
@xFIRERUSHx The game's sidequests as well as the Triforce chart/shard hunting make up the rest of the game after those 5 dungeons, so it kinda balances out.
how many dungeons are there not including forsaken fortress and return of the forsaken fortress and tower of gods cause im collecting the triumph forks right now but i wanna know if there are any more temples cuz it felt kinda short
This game was great. It's my second favorite game in the Legend of Zelda series, but I've only played three of the games so that's not saying much. The only thing that really bothered me was the sailing. It took WAY too long to get from one island to the next. I actually really liked the graphics and when I saw previews for the next Zelda game, Skyward Sword, I was really happy that they might bring these graphics back.
I'm not a huge fan of this game because of the frustrating parts like what you said, like the part traveling from Windfall to Outset, the eight Triforce pieces, buying the Triforce map things (or whatever they are, I haven't played this game for a while), and the Wind Temple, but this game is mostly really good.
This was the first Zelda game that I have ever played. I never even heard of Zelda before I got it. I'm glad I bought the game because if I didn't I wouldn't have liked the LoZ
Am I the only one that actually liked the Triforce Quest? I thought it was a great way to visit minor islands that you wouldn't normally go to in a linear playthrough.
i know this is your opinion but the wind temple was one of my favorite dungeons. yeah, that mini forest plant thing... did get annoying but the boss was one of my favorite and the music for that boss. when i would play the forsaken fortress the first time, i would always panic when snooping around. whenever my cousin got to the triforce part (we played it alot) i would do it in half an hour. this game is great. one of my favorites.
Graphics: Yes, we didn't expect these graphics and I think we all freaked out a bit, but most of us actually learned to respect and like them. Heck, these are some of the greatest graphics I've seen on a video game, but that's enough talk about graphics.
The story: In my opinion, WW's story is one of the greatest stories ever. It's dark, saddening, and epic all at the same time. At first, you're main goal on yoiur quest is to save Aryll, but it soon changes. *CONT.*
The story continued: After Aryll is saved, you discover Ganon's true virtue and you find out who Zelda is. If that isn't totally unexpected, I don't know what is. Seriously, entering Hyrule Castle for the first time was one of the most epic moments in any video game I played.
Dungeons: WW doesn't have a lot of dungeons, as you all know. Plus, the dungeons aren't really that difficult. But, they were creative and fun that I didn't mind the difficulty at all. My favorite one is the Wind Temple.
Dungeons cont.: That dungeon is awesome and the wind themed puzzles were interesting. Plus, the boss was great and had some cool music.
Bosses: Wind Waker's bosses may be easy (just like in all Zelda games, IMO), but they were fun and they looked stunning. The fast-paced movement and the use of the new items made my first battles with all the bosses unforgettable.
Difficulty: Like I said, WW's not that hard. It's actually one of the easier 3D Zelda games. But, that doesn't make the game bad.
Difficulty cont.: I thought that the difficulty suited the game well and made it just right. It's not hard, but it isn't piss-easy like many people think it is. I personally thought that the game was more difficult than Majora's Mask (aside from Great Bay Temple), but that's just me.
Sailing: Ah, the BIG issue. I'm one of the few that didn't mind the sailing and I'm one of the VERY few that absolutely enjoyed it. Sailing the 49 squares of the Great Sea for the first time was freaking epic!
Sailing cont.: Yes, after a while the sailing did become slightly tedious, but I honestly didn't mind. And the Triforce Quest? The so-called part that ruined the game? It's like the Water Temple. It's beatable of you have COMMON SENSE. The Triforce Quest wasn't bad at all for me...but I still wanna kill Tingle. 3184 rupees my ass.
Overall, this is my FAVORITE Zelda game and in my opinion one of the greatest video games of all time. It's not perfect, but no game is. Not even Ocarina of Time.
Such a grand game... not to mention, it was HUGE, I mean, 49(NOT over 50...) islands, each having it's own traits and treasures, there are a good amount of secret caves, dungeons and mini-dungeons, I mean, it was a GIANT game
@zeldafanboy23ify same. my summer project was to finish every zelda game i started but quit as a kid (oot, WW, minish cap and link to the past) and wind waker was the one that gave me the most fun. I beat them all in a day or two and an all nighter, so i expected more of a chore, but the wind waker was fun, exciting, comical, hard, and in my opinion the greatest zelda game ever! (i mean COME ON! YOU GET TO SMASH IN A GIANT BIRD'S SKULL WITH A HAMMER TWICE LINK'S SIZE!)
Does anyone wish that the next new zelda game should be cell shaded in 3d like this one but all different or something? Like a Minish cap remake or some badass prequel? I hope Nintendo takes ideas.
I see your point though and I say this game's so good that when you're playing, you tend to forget simple 1st-grade math lol. I could've sworn that the islands were 8 x 8. @_0
One of my most favorite games of all time. There wasn't a single part I didn't like. I even enjoyed sailing. The loneliness and calming feeling I got when crossing the vast blue and beautiful ocean never got old for me. Also, getting your own island was pretty freaking awesome.
1st gannon breaks loose sever of times before and after wind waker 2nd how can this be many many many many many many times if link is 5 years younger and did hyrule drown in in other loz no! and it was only 1 fish did you think all fish knew you and called you small fry
CJ, I was patient with the Wind Temple and enjoyed the puzzles and it has my favorite boss in the series Molgera. I want a home console sequel. I didn't like Phantom Hourglass that much, but I did like Spirit Tracks. It's my favorite game on the gamecube. I consider TP a Wii game. The sailing isn't bad after you learn how to warp and YES I hate the triforce sidequest. I hate Tingle because of that sidequest.
OK I watched Chuggaconroy's Let's play of this game. Played through the whole game again and thought it was a TAD bit better than Ocarina of Time but not as good as Twilight Princess. It's my second favorite in the series and I don't want any OoT fanboys flaming me for this, this was the first zelda game I ever played and I had an emotional conection to it. You may have had an emotional connection to Oot, well I had a connection to WW.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I found that this game was the only Zelda game in the series that could compare to the greatness of Ocarina of Time. I found that Majoras Mask could almost, keyword ALMOST compare to Ocarina of Time and I'm sorry but I found Twilight Princess to be a tad boring with a little to much graphics to be a Zelda game. I mean it looks more like an animated movie more then a video game.
Well, I have not played this game. But that's only because I do not have the appropriate system to play it on at the current moment. However, I have seen my brother play it, and it is neat. Can't say that I ever will play it. Maybe if I get a Wii one day I might consider buying or downloading it.. But that could still be a long way off. Plus there's (shudders) Tingle. I don't know what Nintendo was thinking when they put him into the game.
why does everyone complain about how long it takes to cross the ocean in this game. For one thing it isnt that long and two once you learn the right melody you can simply warp to where you need to be or close by to it at least. Come on people lets use our brains.
it's a good game but i hate the cartoon like graphics well yes i got used to them in time but still didn't completely get over it, i'm much more a fan of the realistic look of ocarina of time and even link to the past to some extent even tho it's 2d, i mean twilight princess was gorgous and more serious and dark!!
it's still love it but to me it's 4th best in the series
Love love love love looooooooveee to this game!!It´s my number 1 favorit of all the zelda games.(i have not played the like 4 or 5 first 2D games. I love everything about it!Except Makar! He is just PISSING ME OF!!Love your video!
@cjszero01 hey it my 3rd favorite too. After Oracina of Time and Twilight Princess. Can't wait for the new zelda wii to come out. The wind Temple was hard but the boss fight against Molgera made up for everything and that's why it's one of my favorite dungeons.
I'm on Gamespot alot and most people who play Zelda say this is there favourite (besides Oot if not that came second) I never got the chance to play this game :(
Question: why are it's sequels on DS only? Another thing: Why are the DS sequels completely controlled by the annoying stylus? It's frustrating and my hand cramps after twenty minutes using that stupid stick.
The reason the sequels are on the DS is because most of the Americans and the regions around it don't accept cartoon or childish looking games. We prefer the realistic "WHERES MY F***ING WIFE!", guts flying out types of games. Where else Japan really don't give a damn. The more realistic the game, the better it'll sale outside Japan.
This game has a great artistic style and a masterpiece, but we tent to look elsewhere and judge something by it's cover.
@PKMN37 I see where you're going and don't you wish you could just use that convenient-looking D-pad on the side? It would at least be nice to have the option of using the buttons.
The first tim I played the wind temple it was confusing, the second time I cnquerd it 100% without even noticed. And it turns to be a boring temple. I like the boss battles.
I played this game a few times through and I don't like it! :D I grew up with zelda; she's like my big sister. I spent thousands of hours playing many of the games to death and could go into detailed analysis over why this game is poor. In short though, I do not like it because it seems tiny. The boating gets very, very boring and making the game an ocean seems like a lazy trick to save time, effort, and money.
@SodaLovingScaly Personally, I loved this game. I enjoyed the sailing because it gave a sense of exploration and it felt like the most adventurous Zelda. It wasn't 'poor' if it got good scores, dude (or dudette). But that's your opinion and this is mine. =)
I agree about collecting the triforce pieces. Every time I replay this game, I always make it to that part and then quit because it's so tedious.

@zeldafanboy23ify This game is far from perfect. No game is. Not even Oot.

@gameaddict51 i know, thats why i said "As perfect as Zelda ever got" because its not perfect.

@zeldafanboy23ify hells ya its better (and funnier)
virus7784 1 year ago

I hope Nintendo takes ideas.

lol over 50 islands? 7 x 7 = 48
OshawaStateOfMind 1 year ago
@OshawaStateOfMind Sorry but it's 49.
I see your point though and I say this game's so good that when you're playing, you tend to forget simple 1st-grade math lol. I could've sworn that the islands were 8 x 8. @_0
AstralXRomance1 1 year ago
One of my most favorite games of all time. There wasn't a single part I didn't like. I even enjoyed sailing. The loneliness and calming feeling I got when crossing the vast blue and beautiful ocean never got old for me. Also, getting your own island was pretty freaking awesome.

I hate Tingle because of that sidequest.
guy4011 1 year ago
OK I watched Chuggaconroy's Let's play of this game. Played through the whole game again and thought it was a TAD bit better than Ocarina of Time but not as good as Twilight Princess. It's my second favorite in the series and I don't want any OoT fanboys flaming me for this, this was the first zelda game I ever played and I had an emotional conection to it. You may have had an emotional connection to Oot, well I had a connection to WW.
guy4011 1 year ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
I found that this game was the only Zelda game in the series that could compare to the greatness of Ocarina of Time. I found that Majoras Mask could almost, keyword ALMOST compare to Ocarina of Time and I'm sorry but I found Twilight Princess to be a tad boring with a little to much graphics to be a Zelda game. I mean it looks more like an animated movie more then a video game.
Finalfantasyfreakout 1 year ago
Well, I have not played this game. But that's only because I do not have the appropriate system to play it on at the current moment. However, I have seen my brother play it, and it is neat. Can't say that I ever will play it. Maybe if I get a Wii one day I might consider buying or downloading it.. But that could still be a long way off. Plus there's (shudders) Tingle. I don't know what Nintendo was thinking when they put him into the game.

How about an actual sequal to majora's mask....THE ORGINAL LINK seeing as Majora's mask is the sequel to ocarina and it is still the same link
XxgrayfoxXXX 1 year ago
why does everyone complain about how long it takes to cross the ocean in this game. For one thing it isnt that long and two once you learn the right melody you can simply warp to where you need to be or close by to it at least. Come on people lets use our brains.

Best boss my opinion is last one

it's a good game but i hate the cartoon like graphics well yes i got used to them in time but still didn't completely get over it, i'm much more a fan of the realistic look of ocarina of time and even link to the past to some extent even tho it's 2d, i mean twilight princess was gorgous and more serious and dark!!
it's still love it but to me it's 4th best in the series
1st link to the past
2nd ocarina of time
3rd twilight princess
then finally wind waker

@cjszero01 hey it my 3rd favorite too. After Oracina of Time and Twilight Princess. Can't wait for the new zelda wii to come out. The wind Temple was hard but the boss fight against Molgera made up for everything and that's why it's one of my favorite dungeons.
Molgera was my fav boss fight

Question: why are it's sequels on DS only? Another thing: Why are the DS sequels completely controlled by the annoying stylus? It's frustrating and my hand cramps after twenty minutes using that stupid stick.
PKMN37 2 years ago 18
Yep
Gabster477 1 year ago
@PKMN37
Unfortunately that's how it works.
dinmagic 1 year ago
its sad. ITS CEL SHADED WHY DONT YOU JUST SUE NINTENDO
LeoWarrior14 1 year ago
@PKMN37 I see where you're going and don't you wish you could just use that convenient-looking D-pad on the side? It would at least be nice to have the option of using the buttons.
AstralXRomance1 1 year ago
@PKMN37 Answer: Because the DS is awesome, and Spirit Tracks is better than Wind Waker.
Answer: That never happens to me, so maybe that's something wrong with your hand and not the game.
lukerbom12 1 year ago
One thing that helps pass the annoying sailing is when you beat the tornado frog, then you can travel by tornado to most any location
PKMN37 2 years ago
The reason for the triforce was Nintendo was not finished with the game. There were supposed to be 2 more dungeons.
But, to avoid fanboy hate mail that added that in to get it out before the release date.

The first tim I played the wind temple it was confusing, the second time I cnquerd it 100% without even noticed. And it turns to be a boring temple. I like the boss battles.
gorgomadness82 2 years ago
I played this game a few times through and I don't like it! :D I grew up with zelda; she's like my big sister. I spent thousands of hours playing many of the games to death and could go into detailed analysis over why this game is poor. In short though, I do not like it because it seems tiny. The boating gets very, very boring and making the game an ocean seems like a lazy trick to save time, effort, and money.
SodaLovingScaly 2 years ago 5
@SodaLovingScaly I don't think the ocean was a lazy trick, I thought it was a nice change of pace.
zeppelin1996 1 year ago
@SodaLovingScaly Personally, I loved this game. I enjoyed the sailing because it gave a sense of exploration and it felt like the most adventurous Zelda. It wasn't 'poor' if it got good scores, dude (or dudette). But that's your opinion and this is mine. =)

I think this has the best final boss in the series. OOT's looks the coolest, but along with TP's, was too easy.
