Ive come the other way with this song..ive only just heard the Uraih heep version..lol..ive been listening to this one since it came out back then..great song
I've heard of the late 80's Lion but not this band. This wasn't too terrible of a song. I gather the album didn't chart so I bet it didn't probably even sell 25,000 copies here in the states. That's a shame b/c this band sounded like it had some potential. This LP probably will never see the light of day on CD or at iTunes.
This version is good, but I'm not hearing anything superior to Uriah Heep's version. The vocalist sounds a little behind the beat... Goalby keeps it moving better. Both versions have great keyboard and nice production.
@icomearoundnow Uriah Heep made a great cover of this song, but the original music was written by: John Sinclair (later in Uriah Heep), Steve Webb, Stan Humphries, Eric Dillon and Robin LeMesurier. Lyrics were written by the late great Gary Farr. I will upload a HD version someday :-)
Was familiar with Uriah Heep's version, but I didn't realize until recently that this song wasn't theirs! This version is very cool - I think I prefer it. Was this album ever released on CD? Seems pretty obscure - Google searches turn up nothing about Lion at all....
I had this album and every song rocked..can't think of it..one song had clock ticking on it..they never got a shot and they were great.

@darnrabbits1 Yes, this album rocks! The song you're talking about is Diana... arguably the best track. I hope to upload it someday soon. Best

This grooves so much more than Heep's version!

This is credited to the members of Uraih Heep on Abominog, they didn't write this?

@RockbertoRocks I wonder why this is credited to Goalby/Sinclair/Daisley/Box/Kerslake on Abominog

The band that did the Transformers theme was LION with Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake) and Kal Swan (Tytan), not this lot.
