Call me callous, but as someone who loves both the TSO and TE, think they both could have done better. Compared to their other work, this just plods along without the brightness or soul each can normally muster. Miles Davis or Paco de Lucia it ain't. Though it could be. A few more rehearsals and a few more dynamics and it could have rocked.
I can't believe what I am about to say, and it is rather embarrassing. I have played and loved the guitar my whole life, yet I am just discovering this great man. Today is a good day.
@SynesthesicVision I didn't find him until May 21, 2008. I remember the date for a very good reason! ;) I picked up the guitar again at 40 because of this man; and I play better than ever.
Normally I prefer to watch TE by himself, since he IS a one-man band, but this is a rarified moment of musical virtuosity where the orchestra and TE absolutely acheive melodic balance and harmony. BRAVO, Tasmanian Orchestra -- DOUBLE BRAVO, Tommy! Thank you, Gina, for posting this great vid. :-)
That's fantastic... that's just beyond words to describe. Tommy is truly the best... and the backing orchestra did a fabulous job with him. A treat to the ear to hear such a great work....

Just another classic example of this man's endless talent. I don't think there is anything he can't play beautifully.
