Good quality in good light, one of better video quality for a phone, but the samsung i8910 is still king of video capture on a phone can do 720p.

If you upload your video via the YouTube button on your iphone, it will resize it to 480x360 which will not give you the HQ mode. For the HQ option to show up on YouTube, your video must be 640x480 or larger. By syncing your iphone with your computer, and taking the video file off that way, it will result in a 640x480 video which you can then upload to youtube and give you the HQ option.

Is the quality the same or better when the video file itself is played on a computer? The video quality rivals that of my digital camera I've used in most of my vids. I'm getting one of these in a couple weeks maybe...

The video is better quality when taken directly from the iphone and played on your computer. It may not be as good as some digital cameras and not as good as a real video camera, but for a phone, it is pretty good.

For a phone thats damn good! Most phones except the high end ones wont be able to record video of that quality for some time in future.
