Well yes, a teacher's job is less valuable because many people are able to do it, therefore their wages are low. Fewer people are able to be models so their wages are higher. A star baseball player gets paid more than others baseball players because he attracts more fans & is more valuable. Also, society determines teachers' wages so if teachers get little money where you live then your society thinks that teachers are indeed not worth much.

Look you're talking normative economics which is what you think. If a model was worth less than a teacher the model wouldn't get more money. We use money to determine who gets what because we have unlimited desires but only limited resources. The most productive members of society get the most money and accordingly the least productive members get the least money.

Ok, I agree, teachers are important. The topic under discussion, however, is what/who is important to society. This can only be explained by economics as economics is the study of how resources are distributed in exchange for valuable talent/productivity. Since only few people can be models supply is restricted, thus they are valuable to society. A teacher, however, can be replaced by a lot of others who are capable of teaching, this they are not as valuable.
