  • I wanted that doll.......didn't happen.

  • I remember talking view master, I sat for hours staring into that thing I remember the disneyland set. I was living in chicago and never thought I would ever go. Now living in CA. I now don't go enough.

  • That brings back a lot of memories. Thanks for the post !

  • THANK YOU CRUMPET !!!

  • How did they made that talking View Master? How were they able to record analog sound onto a plastic disc with celluloid inserts? Audio cassettes were made with magnetic tape. Maybe it had celluloid on the front, and magnetic on the back, and a tape head played the sound, while the projector light let you see the pictures on the celluloid. I wish they still made that. It was a pretty high tech toy for 1971.

  • @chloelicorice It was a plastic record attached to the View Master that spun around... Phonograph tech. I Had one...

  • Henry Fonda along with his rug.

  • Meh, It feels wierd to look at life. We all have our time in life. if you were born in the 1900's, im sure it was crazy to make it to the 1970s or even higher, I was born in 1993, 18 today, I wonder how different the world will change if I make it to 70 or even 80. It's sad we cant live longer than what most people get to. The world can be an exciting and intresting place lol o_o

  • it was fun being a kid back then. I miss those days..

  • I guess today's tea party doll would be called Sarah (Palin).

  • Wowww,...I had a Talking Viewmaster! I had Alice in Wonderland slideshow,....It was very trippy to see it in 3-D

  • Those japanese twins creep me out..

  • Your name creeps me out

  • frekin possesed doll

  • their playdoh was shiny:)

  • CRUMPETS GONNA COME AND KILL ME

  • these toys look like crap. glad i wasnt born then.

  • Crumpet looks like Talking Tina.

  • Crumpet, the tea party doll. Pull her string and she gets recalled!

  • Crumpet?!?!!?!?! who wants to play with a doll named Crumpet?!?!?

  • O.k so the dad has his "kids" in the basement? I feel like when the camera went off he got up and said "O.K brats get back to work! I need those Levis done!!!"

  • I bought all my kids toys at the flea market last Christmas because of the economy, now I'm in hell. I need View Master slides ,SSP pull chords and play dough. Also my daughter's Easy Bake Oven keeps shorting out and does anyone know where I can get replacement wheels for the Big Wheel? Oh yeah I need Hot Wheels track connectors.

  • Those SSP's with the big, single center wheel were some of the lamest car toys ever invented. Hated them.

  • i was not alive to see this...now i can...i wasent missing enything

  • Boy that was a more happier time to be alive, today is total retardation, violence, no talent, no ideas, and annoyance.

  • @43cdc The irony is that the majority of what you're referring to is being created by those who were the kids during the "happier" time.

  • crumpet puff puff pass!

  • toys have not changed much over the years... when is someone going to come out with something new

  • @Miikaika25 ya don't believe so, huh? try the junk that they make today, and compare that to what they used to make. Such as tonka trucks, back then, they were made of pressed steel and lasted forever, now these days, they're made of cheap plastic, they don't last anywhere as near as they used to and aren't worth a crap !!!

  • the third commercial, the doll was pretty kewl, bit freaky because it moves and knows were u r 0_0

  • know your place children, know your place

  • Over a mile deep? fuck you!

  • lol the very last but didnt show was that "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a lollipop" commerical

  • I used to have an SSP car!

  • @idovideostcloudmn Either I had one or friends did! Do you remember that if you weren't careful, you could get your fingers burned/messed up buy that spinning wheel? I do. Ouch! Still, a really cool toy that brings back memories.

  • these toys had life

  • the grand canyon is over a mile deep... yayyyyyy :(

    lol

  • that flinstones thing looks fun!, My mom has a crumpet doll in her closet now! I've seen it a few times(not allowed to touch her) didn't know what she was! now i do!.

  • 0:12 he almost smashed the thing into the kid's face.

  • those two Asian kids look like the twins from "the shining:

  • That talking view-master thing looks strangely fun.

  • @MattTheSaiyan It was.

  • @MattTheSaiyan I still have my Talking View Master.

  • I think Crumpet was copied after automated Japanese dolls from antiquity. Technology is old-hat early robotics.

  • My mom had Crumpet back in the 1970's!

  • Wow....what weird toys...

  • Crumpet was awesome!!!!! One of my favorite dolls.

  • wow that racecar set then was so much better than the shit we have now (and i was born in 1999)

  • @iluvpie20101 LOL I agree with you. I was born in that era (1963) and they had much better toys in those days. I had the SSP smash up derby set.

  • @Manongjojo definately played ssp's in a hallway with the lights off sending them at each other, lol also had a "cheetah" badass 3 wheeler pump pedals instead of rotary

  • @iluvpie20101

    quit fucking swearing kid.

  • @cubicleboy WTF? I can swear if i want you ass...people these days I SWARE!

  • @iluvpie20101

someone born in 1999 shouldn't be using bad words XD

  • @JanuaryBlack1996 aha, your really funny. but its sad that you look for comments to reply too. you lonely fag -,- oohh, now youre gonna say something back to me to hurt me? yep, thats what all fags do.

  • for the first commercial, maybe it will somehow entertain and keep your kids quiet for hours, but won't you be hearing the creepy game voice HAHA

  • Yeah pisswizard - Pauley Perrette is one of the true underrated hotties on TV. Something just doesn't seem right - that "Funny Pumper" toy sounds dirty to me.

  • funny--henry fonda hated his kids

  • Yes, You too can funny pump the Flinstones!

  • seriously?? they will be bored to death..

  • @otherteresa8991 back then we didnt have video games.we used our imagination, played board games, toys or played outside.

  • These quality of these toys is amazing compared to the sea of birghtly colored plastic garbage floating around today.

  • 1:12 Pauley Perrete from NCIS as a kid.

  • your welcome big bro...

  • My older brother bought that same Talking View Master gift set when I was about 4. I used it til it died. I foiund a really pristine one just like it on Ebay. What good memories. Thanks Darryl! (older brother)

  • "It'll keep your kids quiet for hours"

    "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO he heh eh ehhh . ..... . . . whens lunch?"

  • pure classic toys

  • That car racing game at the end is so cool. I'd love to give that one a go. Looks like at the veeeery end of the commercials a Tootsie Pop commercial was fixing to come on. (I think. The one with the turtle ?) lol..anyway.. :)

  • That Crumpet acted so prim & proper, but when the tea party was over and most of the guests went home, she was quite the wild little slut. Just ask Ken and My Buddy.

  • I had a talikng View Master when i was a kid. They don't make toys like tat any more.

  • 0:01 to 0:30 has screen legend Henry Fonda who was there "pitchman" for the GAF Talking viewmaster

  • is that Milton the toaster AKA the Funny Pumper?

  • I can't believe that people played with such lame toys when I was a kid. I guess I'm glad my parents didn't believe in spoiling us. We got really basic things to play with. But how I lusted after the crappy stuff they advertised on saturday tv. Now I see that I didnt really miss anything.

  • I still want Crumpet , LOL , awesome I remeber them all , wow !!! way cool !!!! Yep I was a kid back then !!! 72'

  • Those SSP cars were fun only if you had the conditions shown in the commercial;a kitchen floor the area of a football field!

  • I want a funny pumper :O

  • Fuck way before my time.

  • I don't know about these dolls that had one function. After you're done playing tea party, did you guys play with Crumpet in other ways like your stationary dolls?

  • I was born in 1968 so I was a toddler during these comercials

  • My childhood dog was named Crumpet

  • OHMYGOSH! I want me a talking view master for Christmas next year! Okay, Mom?

  • the boys had very cool toys back then.

  • i had one of those view masters in like '94!

    lmao

  • Mass media warped my 48 year old mind with this crap...

  • 0:30...the sound effects are like from 70s b-grade horrow flicks.

  • i had a Crumpet but mine was Black LOL

  • the kids in the first commercial sound so entusiastic! (sarcasm)

  • crumpet!?

    LMAO!

  • I remember we always used to imitate Henry Fonda and we would just keep saying "GEE-AAY-EFF" over and over again.

I always wanted one of those cool playdoh things buy never got one. Maybe e-bay has one?

  • The View Master was one of the biggest disappointing toys as a kid.

Those zip pull cars were the bomb! I loved those!

  • WOW I was 7-10 when these commercials ran

  • how come dolls dont do that stuff nowadays...now they go potty in the tiolet...

  • these "kids" are adults smoking weed behind the old abandoned movie theater near ny house, now a days!

  • i wonder where these kids are now

  • ^!!

  • why the hell do younger kids back in the day get better toys then we did when we were like 5 and such. Well nothing beated star wars guys, not even transformers.

  • Henry Fonda! Cool- I love the twins too!

  • Do you think the kids of the late 2000's could get into toys like this?

Man. With modern technology you'd think they could have pulled off a newere improved talking viewmaster in the last ten years.

  • @NateSean They did make a new one a few years ago, but since View Master went down in popularity (i dont even think they make them anymore) they weren't advertised much.

  • wow.

  • boys were tougher back then. now a days, all of the little boys in the world play with Webkinz. come on boys, GET LIFE!!!!!!!!!!

  • if boys wanna play with webkinz, im perfectly fine with that. studies actually show that if a child plays with toys audienced for the other gender, they are more creative and more well rounded than kids that play with toys audienced at their gender

  • Some of the best stuff I've seen on Youtube!!!!! Thanks for great memories from 40 years ago.

  • Look up- Who killed Crumpet: An exposé on the bar tending industry.

  • lol Henry Fonda go Henry Go!

  • oh I wanted crumpet as a kid

  • My grandma still has some classic playdough stuff like that. She bought it for my dad, but he never used it.

  • AH! it cuts off right before the tootsie pop commercial with the tortoise!

  • I loved SSP race cars!

  • Crumpet the tea serving doll is going to give nightmares for a few weeks!

  • That funny pumper is cool. I don't remember that being around in the 80's.

  • Henry Fonda's one of my favorite actors of all time.

Fail Safe, On Golden Pond, The Grapes of Wrath are my fav movies from him.

    I can't believe he's been dead for 28 years :(

  • Henry Fonda??? OKAAAAY

  • O_O The cookies looked BURNT.

    :D

  • they r soo burnt ha ha!

  • ya, i think Crumpet over did her cookies, but she looks only about 6 :P they should have named her Julie thats a hippish name, since this doll was in the 80's, oh its cute tho!!

  • Crumpet was from the early 70's! I remember her now that I saw the commercial! Wow!

  • I remember thinking this was so lame - me being a hippie teenager by then! lol! Goofy me. Love this stuff..nostalgic..

  • haha i think i had one of these

  • OMg

    Flintstones = WIN

  • My brother had an SSP Car, Pretty Cool back in the day.

  • Crumpet they should of called her a Tart.

  • the music to the flinstones thing sounded like first encounters of the third kind

  • I had the talking view-master, It was enjoyable, but after some wear and tear, the voices stopped working.

  • i would so change that crumpet doll so it would smack someone in the face xD

  • Ahhhh...there's nothing better than kissing molded plastic!

    Hands down, coolest toy ever!

  • why do the kids like it??

  • ha ha ha who calls a doll crumpet??? ha ha ha ahhhh good ol play-doh gotta love it we made it for the kids when i worked at the pre-school and still sooo much fun to play with lol these commercials rock lol

  • those toys scare me im glad they made video games

  • oh God..lol Crumpet my Sister did not like that Doll..lol

  • The thing is, with play-doh, when it hardens, it never sticks to anything.

Was play-doh made in the USA back then? It's made in China now.... :(

  • It seems strange that Henry Fonda would hang around with kids in that Viewmaster commerical as in real life, he wasn't much of a father to his kids Jane and Peter. No surprise the way Jane & Peter turned out to be when they became adults.

  • Playdoh kicks so much ass!

    xD

  • AAH playdoh. such memories. playing with it,mixing two playdohs, and leaving it out to dry.

  • i still have that veiwmaster lol

  • "It'll keep your kids quiet for HOURS!!" haha!! :D

  • I miss Henry Fonda

  • Okay the doll is going to give me nightmares!!!

  • lol this viewmaster use a record for the audio id like to take this record and try to play it on a normal record player

  • you never saw a pretty black doll back in the 80's wtf is that about?

  • The "funny pumper" is the name of a porn star waiting to happen...

  • E-BAY

  • wonder if they still make viewmasters?

  • they do, go to walmart and u can find em easily

  • LOL! thats so funny! I remember Henry Fonda saying GEE-AAY-EFF" How cool to have a memory from so many years ago and to be able to recall something as minute as this. lol! Flashback's are great! Thanks, unc!

  • GEE-AAY-EFF"We still quote when we see Hank Fonda.

  • Looks like around '72........I had an SSP Racer and loved it until the that big zip-tie broke.

Schoolhouse Rock days. Thanks for the memories.
