Of course, it's the warming up phase.
Intended to warm up cords of the instruments etc.
That leave the time for the performers to make the final arrangements of their instruments.

that is called tunning...they tune befor the show again b/c the lights could untune them by the heat...GOSH havent you ever played a string instrument befor!!

thats the "pre instrument testing" phase i believe... a as with all their concerts i've attended so far they do that

It's in the Conservatorium of music. About 10-15 minutes away from the Operah house.
