  • Dear wise woman, do you take adult leaves of Comfrey or young leaves? My reason for asking is the young leaves contain more pyrrolizidine alkaloids (which some say are problem causing) and maybe the reason you have not had any problems all these years is you use the mature leaves? Do you know why type of Comfrey you use?

    symphytum asperum

    contain higher levels of pyrrolizidine alkaloids

  • I've never done this before. I just went out to check on my plants and see I have lots that need moving to happier places! I brought in three plant tops and will dry them and check out the infusion! I make salve with it, though.

  • Where one can find to buy this Russian comfrey (Symphytum uplandica x)? Everywhere I looked they sell only regular comfrey (Symphytum officinale). Thanks

  • I have heard mucilages need cold water infusions, but you do hot water here.......
