@tesla242 The test source will only put out about .3 mr/hr so this perfume bottle is much higher than the test source. Unless he has a new test source.
@Calliber50 I don´t know the activity of the CDV check sources, but since his is using not the original probe, the results may be different. Any way, the check sources are in general , DU, so mostly a beta emiter, so I think it didn´t affect tooo much the reading. The yellowish the Uranium glass the higher the activity in my experience.
@tesla242 It is funny though, and I was going to comment until I saw your comment. Then I pulled out my CDV-700 and checked what level it reads. Granted the thing is 47 years old now and the half life of the Radium D+E test source is 22 years. The manual says the test source strength would have been 2.0 mr/hr average. Darn thing still works though!
