the food might be similar, but its still different. It would be like trying to compare the food from Yucatan (a mexican state) to the food of Veracruz (another mexican state). Its very different. This is because mexico is much bigger than guatemala so we have ton more ingredients to choose from. I really wonder if you have tried real mexican food.

I grew up in Honduras and got to go to Guatemala as a kid, Guatemala the ORIGIN of ALL Mexican food, and in Guatemala I did not see a single nacho, anywhere. They're right about that it is a relatively recent invention.

Your totally right, the best best! I made the mistake of ordering a Burrito, my first time in Mexico City, the waiter thought i was nuts! I had ordered a donky! I'm not sure but burritos might be regional or not authentic at all, Margaritas are not authentic either. OMG you have not lived until you've had a tamal or mole with a cold beer!!!!!
