  • Are you comparing a screw driver to an impact driver? No wonder the PS40 won....

To put "vs" in the title is misleading! You're comparing chalk and cheese.

  • Have to say, I have the ps20 and I can drive a 3" screw that speed without the pre-drilled hole. I don't think that one is working up to par. I tested a new ps21 last week, and it couldn't complete a single 3" screw on the first charge. I think the power system may be flimsy or unreliable. My ps20 has awesome power after first charge. The light is like a flashlight. go figure.

  • Thanks for the stunning insight.

  • WHY DID U LET GO OFF THE TRIGGER! LED LIGHT!

  • The one on the left had a false start every time.

  • @herenowww I think you will find it is a comparison of 2 models of the same drill, not 2 different drills. The one with the flat face is the older design.

Maybe they changed the design, because the older model and the impact driver look quite similar.

  • ps-40

  • UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH!

  • 12 volts sucks

  • The drill is good if ur in an office and need to work quietly

  • great video. i was recently debating which electric drill i should purchase, now instead of bosch, i'll buy bosch.

  • Check out their newest, the PS-30. Just got one, it is sweet.

  • @tylerjackman28 Have you ever considered Bosch?

  • There neat and fit in the hand well but when you need to get work done...better just get a real drill.

  • @battlebob I don't see how they fail to "get work done." A "real drill" will strip your heads.

  • You should've switched hands because your right hand is usually stronger than the left if you're a right handed person. This could greatly impact the result of the test if it was a close match.

  • Not exactly. The impactor requires far less pushing pressure than a regular driver. I've done it both ways and the impactor was still faster on non-predrilled holes.

  • there is no kick back on an impact drill

  • now thats a real world test. great job.

  • one way to quiet impacts is fill the impact case with oil but it adds a lot of weight,I think snap-on is the only company to do this, you would be amazed how much quieter they are.

  • change change gear NOOB xD

  • good thing you didn't have to use crappy American screws there. Robertson FTW!

  • the ps20 only has one gear so it is slow. i have the ps40 and it is great for extracting older screws from a deck but it makes a racket and i would never build anything with it so as to not disturb any neighbors. the full size bosch cordless 24V drill is way faster than the ps40 at putting screws in.

  • Yeah- I did just the same with a deck. Be OK if there was no other choice. Overall I am not as pleased as at first, and batteries are beginning to tire. Of course, the newest the- PS-30 2 speed drill- looks like it would be perfect form my needs.

  • yup i think i am going to look for a ps-30 on ebay. same batteries as the ps40 right?

  • Yes. They re-branded them now as "12 volt", but the specs seem the same, unless they tweaked the charger. Good luck on Ebay, it may be too new to be there for a while.

  • sigh, its an impact driver...do you not understand the concept of how an impact driver works? its pretty sad that you are one of the many people that represent the 95 percent of ignorance the world suffers from on a day to day basis. normally I don't toss insults because its a waste of time to talk trash behind a computer but I've gotten to the point that I've had it...

  • do you have a point to make about impact drivers? i was very specific in what i had to say. from what i can tell from your message, you're just a lil bitch.

  • If you can come up with a quiet impact driver, you'll be a rich man. But That may take some time.

Yes they are noisy, but for it's purpose, I'll take the noise.

  • this new bosch impact driver is very good

  • BOSCH RULES!!!

  • i have the ps2, grate tool! But ps40 is more powerfull, its an impact!

  • I own a Makita screwdriver and I just wanna say it sucks. No power at all and turns super slow. I'm now saving money to buy a 36V Bosch Drill :D

  • hi, but the ps40 made in china

and ps 20 made in switherland

  • The PS-20 has about 18n/m of torque to the PS-40's 100n/m of torque. I find impact drivers overkill for most uses, using on hard oak is useful.

I have a Makita TD020DSE impact driver and even though it has less torque performs brilliantly.

  • errrm yeah one is an impact driver... No contest.

  • Yeah, but it was running free mostly, just lots more torque.

All and all, though I am still favoring the PS-20 for most uses.

  • Nice...huge different!
