@jowrab well thats because they kinda molded makoto to be ryus sister at one point but then for some reason changed the story, thats probably the reason why character wise she's so shallow like hugo.

That is the definition of a "crazy Ryu player"? Sorry, but I didn't see anything spectacular, besides him emptying his super bar on fireballs... I mean he had some nice parries towards the end and stuff, but I still don't get how that is crazy? Perhaps he just had a bit bad day? Most players can do exactly the same when they are playing at their best. I guess that's why ppl pick Ken/Ryu... you don't need much skill to own with them.
In 3S, he's mid-tier for a reason. Ryu always has to play risky against a lot of characters, because he doesn't have an easily accesible way to heavily punish a person after a mistake. If Ryu's fighting against a higher tier character, every move counts.
With other characters (most notably Yun, Makoto and Ken), they can turn the entire match around if their opponent makes a single error in their play, or perhaps they just guessed right.

I gotta say I don't think that was a very good match. Almost all ryu did was low forward->ex hadouken, it was very predictable. Makoto player almost had it.
yes. order it on ebay. its rare to find around where I live. but yeah. you can check at your game store anyways. its worth a try. you ocul find it but i would suggest having it bought on ebay.
Street Fighter 3 is only playable on the capcom play system commonly abbreviated CPS which is basically an arcade system designed by capcom. Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike is only playable on a CPS 3 or a CPS 3 emulator
the makoto player should have won but, it looks like he didnt know the combo of of her super art which would have taken more life and even stun ryu but the only time I saw the option for the cmbo was off the miss ex uppercut in the last fight
This game is simply superb. From the cool, rhythmic music to the reformation of the street fighter's 2D moves, design, and style. You can tell the developers of this game worked really hard to make this street fighter as balanced and as perfect as it possibly could be.
SA1 and SA2 Ryus' normally do this because it's safe on block. If blocked, the opponent is too far away to punish it. Had Ryu followed up with a Shoryuken or Hurricane Kick, he would have been left wide open, and as you can see, Makoto has some devastating punishers. SA1 and SA2 have a lot of meter to burn, so it's a good idea to throw it out a lot for a solid fail-safe move.
yeah but you can combo the c. mk to shoryuken or tornado kick unless the guy himself was crouching when you hit him. Ryy's combos shouldnt whiff unless you suck.
i think it's better to hit confirm it into a tatsumaki or hadou?super, but yeah, using EX is safe too if you don't want to risk it. i wouldn't call the ryu CRAZY, but he's pretty good.
@ArmenianAssassin this game isnt about how much damage you can take with a combo. its about maintaining your range. Comebacks from no energy is easy if your not careful. Hits on crouching are the only unforgiveable beefy hits you dont want to get hit by!!! See the damage akuma takes on any hit while he is crouching
@jowrab Lol i find that funny how ryu is called a shoto but the style makoto uses is real shotokan

Is it possible to block after you parry, like block the first hit of an EX fireball and block the next.
jeezulz 1 year ago
@jeezulz I ment parry the first and block the second.
jeezulz 1 year ago
@jeezulz Yes. It's a pretty common tactic especially when someone tries to mix you up while you're still parrying a fireball.

You're right about Ken, but Ryu? Are you joking?
In 3S, he's mid-tier for a reason. Ryu always has to play risky against a lot of characters, because he doesn't have an easily accesible way to heavily punish a person after a mistake. If Ryu's fighting against a higher tier character, every move counts.

why do an EX hadoken after a crouching mk rather than a shoryokun or a tornado kick which does way more damage and doesnt take away meter?
