@jaywizzle79 the reason the contrail glows is because this video was shot just after sunset in vegas (you can clearly see this by the hint of sunlight in the horizon) yet the rocket is high enough to still be in sunlight as it nears the edge of the atmosphere.

thats actually a common sight in vegas, what your looking at is actually a rocket launched from Vandenberg airforce base in southern california. from Vandenberg afb they launch alot of test rockets and rockets with satellite payloads in that trajectory, gives a perfect view of the launch in las vegas nevada! There is no way to tell whether or not it is a two or three stage system. But, it appears to be the change between exhaustion of one stage and ignition of the next. The are launch videos all over the internet that will show it. Maybe you need to research it some more and get your head out of the clouds! I am a UFO Geek, too. It would most likely be the first stage shut-down and second stage start-up. But, only those who launched the rocket and made the video would know, precisely, what stage it was. There are plenty of vids , just like this, in a search for "rocket launch" videos here on you tube.
I have never seen rockets using their engines on re-entry! If you will watch videos of known launches, on you tube, you will see the rocket shutting down and the next stage starting up. Your premise is flawed in thinking any re-entry of any space object is powered. That would look like a "shooting star" instead.

Three things puzzle me about this object.
The glowing vapour trail unlike any rocket footage i have seen.
The separation or reignition does not see the object race through the sky as before it seems almost stationary.
If it's a Rocket is'nt that a populated area below and Rockets are known to malfunction on occasion.
