  • canon makes the best AF lenses and has a huge a variety of them to boot. Zeiss takes the king in sharpness for the 21mm and 100mm ZE however canon's 24mm tse mk 2 is comparable to the zeiss 21mm. I prefer the white balance off the nikon cameras but don't like how all the options are reversed (zooming, dials, etc.)

  • 4:11 - you almost dropped that whole camera system!

  • rapist using the back entrance 5:20

    pun intended kai?

  • @DigitalRevCom Hey Kai, you mentioned in this review that all IS versions of these lenses are weather sealed. Then you point out that the f2.8 you were holding was a non-IS. This left me with the impression that the f2.8 non-IS is not weather sealed. However, according to Canon's website the f2.8 (non-IS) is indeed weather sealed. Thought maybe you should know as I was looking at your site and there's no mention of this at the specs info.

  • 3:09 - "BOKEH! BOKEHMON!" rofl

  • canon are the best cameras in the world :D

  • Top Gear for DSLR's... XD

  • power to the people

  • 1:49 thats what she said :P

  • i love my f/4 :D

  • They all have same lens. haha

  • what bag is he carrying?

  • jonathanyip343: somebody told me the canon 70-200 f2.8 is not enough wide for landscape and advise me buy a canon 24/f2.8 for wide.it will combine with canon 70-200.but is this a combo good enough for all my purpose(potrait, streetlife and landscape).can i use only 70-200f2.8 like the lens kit???

  • @thaininhdo you can take any landscapes picture with any lens. Clearly that person who said that 70-200mm f/2.8 can't take landscape needs to learn how to take photos from scratch again. A clue for you: COMPRESION

  • if f2.8 was lighter it 'd be better so i think that i'll go to f4 IS. 2.5kg are too much for my back

  • Can i use the 70-200 f2.8l usm zoom lens forl landscape?.?.

  • @thaininhdo why not ?

  • @thaininhdo you can, but its not good bc its not wide angle

  • bokehmon =)) gotta love that

  • money shots

  • I wish Nikon would make a more affordable 70-200mm f/2.8

  • KONG YEE AH!!!!

  • Why did you not use the IS mk II be better to see how good the new one is?

  • @devonmale69 they did?

  • @Dragon4eva it was meant to have been mkI

  • The 70-200 f/2.8 II is AWESOME. When I was reviewing shots there were some that I thought were for sure from the 135L, but they ended up being from the 70-200. That says a lot.

  • BOKEH

  • Dud Mr DigitalRevCom,you make me laugh to death about the whole scenery. while people protesting and trying to solving their problems. you chasing them giving lecture about lenses. Probably mad duds in their mind thinking your going to report the situation to newspapers for their demands. hahaha .... good job anyway I like your 10min youtubes

  • oh my god the way he says bokeh

  • You are very funny with your comments.

  • bokeh!! bokehmon!!!!

  • hi

  • No the question is, how does an asian have a british accent and lives in an asian community.

  • bokehmon whahaha

  • BE CAREFUL KAI, ASIAN PARKING!!!!!

  • 2:22 the man and woman take the place, they think kai is some reporter then put theirs pict to some news media. LOL

  • lol @ the end

  • Noiaw noiswaw anoiswa. I'm suprised that's allowed outside a court. :p

  • @8:08 more epic!

  • @8:04 so epic

  • I have a 24-675mm lens

  • It's always funny to see people still asking which item is the best in every single comparison video they made. If you have the money, pick the most expensive one (price = quality). If not, just pick one that suits your budget, even try those 3rd party lens out there. Every lens has their own sweet spot that you can exploit. Only TROLLS who worries all the time about their gear instead of investing their time in learning how to make a good shot

  • @looniaz This is so true. A company like Canon isnt going to release a really bad lens let alone an L series lens.

  • OK but what about the 70-200mm f/2.8 IS and the IS II version?

  • I would love to see you go out and do some real wildlife photography during one of your reviews

this looks like a great lens, will go check it out , thanks for a great review :)

  • 2:16 we want our fwied wice for two dorrar fiftty nowt phive dorrar!

  • I have a 70-200 2.8l (old version).. Im planning to sell it because it seems obsolete now that I'm using my 24-70 2.8l more often .. Lol maybe I should keep on trying out new things with the telephoto.

  • 4:35... DAYUM that's clean LOL

  • "Canon 70-200 f4 L USM cheap" - yes, maybe for you Kai ;)

  • @iLackie It is a cheapest "L" lens from Canon, quality = money

  • "This guy is jealous on my lens", ha ha ha. He is jealous on 1/6400 s.

  • Isn't Kai using the 70-200 f/4 IS in this video? If you look closely at around 0:50, it's clear that he's using the IS version in this video.

  • @dannynguyenn I noticed that too.

  • Hi there ! I wonder if this lens would be any good for Motorsport photography (rally)?? Im talking about "Canon 70-200 IS USM 4.0. I'm gonna use it with a Canon 7D :)

Can you guys help me out what to choose?

  • Great review guys, but Kai - when you were shooting the protest, you probably should've brought your shutter speed down to 1/4000th or lower. Seems like 1/6400th was a bit too fast.

  • Lol at guys buying 70-200 2.8 for vacation photos

  • is the 70-200 f4 good with the 60D? kinda on a low budget right now.. student life....

  • @sondreborseth If your shooting nothing but daytime photos and studio work yes. Otherwise, I would continue savings. I've been in the same spot as you about a year ago. I decided to wait to pick up the 70-200 2.8 IS II and I will use this line for years to come. It's a beast.

  • @ChildersFilms hmm i rather save for the IS lense... after trying to shoot with and 80-200mm i lent from a friend.. (whitout IS) damn its hard to keep stedy.. so yeah i think im gonna save... but again.. will this lense work for bird photography?

  • @sondreborseth lol..too short for birdings. You'll need at least 400mm

  • Omg 1337 likes ?!!

  • I wanna ask you wish one should I buy canon 60d or 7d?

  • @TUTIMIO123 60D is much cheaper leaving you a few more dollars to buy a 50mm 1.4 or similar, but the 7D is superior in terms of build quality. Image wise, the T2i, T3i, 60D, and 7D are all about the same.

  • What are they protesting?

  • For a non-professional with a 5dmkii is it worth it to pay 700-800$ more for a 2.8 IS II or just stick with 2.8 IS Version 1?

  • @BorislavX I have always said go big or go home. Think of it as an investment into your future. I'm a student and I always though about the cheaper options. Waited a few more months and bought the IS II and I don't regret it at all.

  • @ChildersFilms Well, maybe in the future. I'm not a pro. And I bought an IS 1 for 1300. IS 2 was 2200 or whatever. That's almost a grand more.

  • @BorislavX Either way your still getting a quality lens. I've shot with both and thats what really moved me to the Mk II. To each his own though.

  • @ChildersFilms The best setup I had was a D3s with 24-70 and 70-200 v2. I had it for 3 months and had to sell. I actually made money on every single piece of equipment because it was right after the flood and nobody had them in stock. My wife allowed me to get something cheaper :) So I went with MK2 24-70 70-200 IS 1. It's a huge downgrade from the D3S but hey, what can you do...

  • @BorislavX One of my friends that shoots for the Daily News in Bowling Green, Kentucky has two D3s. His lens setup is killer too 24-70, 70-200, 300mm and a couple primes. I've only been shooting for 2 years. Still in school and haven't taken things to the next level yet. Still trying to get my gear where I would like it. I love my Canon gear, but that D4 that is rumored might make me drop it all and head on over.

  • @ChildersFilms One word in response to your D4 comment: 1Dx.

  • LOLOLOLOLOLOL !!!!!!! I would love to do a shoot with him :D

  • " oh these guys just jealous my lens "

  • f4 all the way

  • wife "you should buy those white lens"

husband "what?? you have no idea how it's cost!"

    Kai : click clik

  • I wish I could afford a 2.8 version :( I only got the f/4 IS USM ><

  • @BrandonKingVloggin the f2.8 non IS is about the same price as the f4 IS on the used market, check out the forums

  • @thesupe87 I mean IS.. I wouldn't sacrifice an f/4 lens with IS for an f/2.8 lens without it.. the ones i'd mostly be tempted to do that with is a 24-105 and a 24-70..

  • @BrandonKingVloggin I never had the 24-105, but I just got the 24-70 and im lovin' it

  • @thesupe87 And so you should :) That's what lens I'm aiming for next.. If only money wasn't a problem hehe

  • '' Those guys are just jealous of my lens ! ''

  • recently i had bought 5d mk II and this lens 70-200 f/2.8 II in 33000 hk dollar(damn !! my all money gone lol)..but the pictures quality are fucking awesome...

  • What lense do you recomend for shooting music videos I have a t3i

  • @jangis1987

I would say any walk around lens, like the 18-135 or the 18-200... and if you're looking for amazing optics go for the higher reach ones like the L 24-105 or the L 24-70 :)

    But thats just me....

  • can you guys add this lense(s) in a kit with the 600d or the 7d or even the 5d mark 2 or any canon camera that formats it

  • kai please review the tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 VC lens please... will it be as good as the canon 70-200mm f/4?

  • If I need to mount this heave of a lens on the tri-pod then do I need to hold it by the lens as well?

  • Should I get the 70-200mm f4 non IS or the 70-200mm f4 IS?

  • Any chance of a full review of the 70-200 f4L non IS?

  • What are they complaining?

  • oh boy do i wish canon made a nikon mount

  • @JBam094 Seems like they're out there. I know I have a canon mount for my nikon lenses.

  • I am currently trying to self teach myself some higher end of photography. But he keeps mentioning in several videos "boogar" or something I cant understand. Can anyone explain what he is meaning so i can keep up with the reviews?

  • @xavier0307 "BOKEH" The amount and quality of the blur from a lens.

  • @rjdriver700 thank you

  • @xavier0307 He's talking about bokeh. It is the out-of-focus blur behind the main subject. Some lenses have a smoother more pleasant look to this area than others...

  • @in2food Thank you very much.

  • damn i really like Mr long hair..

  • THE arguement pointless. Unless u only shoot on a tripod with a remote, u don't need IS. If your a serious photographer the yes, the IS isnthenbest option. Stop trying to compare this lens to Nikons or Sigmas. The truth is the IS ii is the best lens in it's class. Period.

  • dude, i would watch your shows on discovery. lovely accent and word selection. never dull.

  • nikon 70-200 VRII VS canon 70-200 isII!

  • @MrPacMe we all know that the vrII is better :)

  • Man! The turn out for Occupy Hong Kong is very poor...lol

  • Bokehmon!! XD

  • BOKEHMON!

  • How big of a difference is there shooting video without IS? I'm interested in getting the 70-200 f/4 L non-IS because of the low cost. Would I be making a mistake?

  • @masuda316 The non IS lens is a great lens, if you have a camera with good iso capabilities such as the 550d, or 7d then its fantastic, so long as you keep the shutter speed above 200 at 200mm then you can get some amazing shots hand held! It is a truly stunning lens for the price!

  • @masuda316 in terms of sharpness and image quality... no mistake with the 70-200 f4 L non IS very sharp lens... i have used it for quite some time.... as long as there is ample light then no shutter lag to make the image blurry. no mistake there my friend... but if you plan to use it indoors with low light.... then that is going to be a big no no...

  • THE IS II is the best!

  • Should I get 70-200mm non-IS or 24-70mm ? They are the same price...

  • probably take the back entrance....lolmongers

  • the way you hold your camera makes me really nervous...

  • I find that at f/4 most of my lenses give me the sharpest images.

  • MUCH SHARPER THAN THE WHITOUT IS VERSION? COME ON ,GIVE ME A BREAK

  • LOL!! The 70-200 f/4L USM is cheaper than the 15-85 IS USM and the 17-55 IS USM! (The f/4 was introduced before 2000.)

  • Dear Kai... we are obviously missing the 70-200 L f4 IS USM... we want that compared with the non IS... so please... can you make another video?

  • @truknayr23 -.- you should know what an IS do,

  • Comment removed

  • @truknayr23 im still looking for a video of that comparison

  • Comment removed

  • Pedofiles? or X files?

  • These guys are working for Canon too promote their products.

  • The F 4.0 version is the sharpest one clearly.,Journalist know that., ask them.,it is not only the less weight.

  • I bought the version whitout the Is for 800euro.,The new one whit IS version 2 whill cost in the Netherlands 2200euros., thats 1400euros more.,Who needs nowadays IS if you put the 5d2 on 1600 ISO?? Nobody uses these lenses wide open .,its not a portrait lens.,put it on F5.6 for best performence.than you will see all 3 lenses give the same picture.

  • I bought the 70-200 f/4 IS recently. It's just as sharp as the f/2.8 II lens, and it's half the price, along with half the weight. If I really need 2.8, I'll just bump up the ISO or grab my 135L.

  • I cry a little inside when he swings that 5D mark II with the f/2.8 II without a strap.

  • It's good to see that the Government has allowed the right to protest following the transfer.

  • Ahaha...the rapists probably gonna go out the back entrance...xD Kai's humor never gets old...

  • BOKEHMON

  • Bokeh! Bokeh-mon!

  • "these guys are now jealous of my lens"... after kai said that all of 'em mounted their bazookas.... hahahaha!

  • how does it shoot sports?

  • Comment removed

  • omg my 70-200 F4 is coming tomoro :D the six months of saving from my job are all worht it :D

  • @mcnamaranicholas with or without is?

  • @krhermansen with, just for indoor stuff :)

  • Wish I would be able to walk around talking photos of people etc without being yelled at or chased down or being looked at weird lol.

  • Rapists are known for taking the back entrance.

  • oh man.... thanks for this review i made up my mind.... im going for the F4... tnx

  • @blind626 with or without is?

  • Many thanks for clearing up the pros and cons of the f2.8 IS II. It's definitely next on my purchase. Keep the canon reviews coming. Good job.

  • Wish I could afford one..

  • thnk u thank u thank u for this review!!!!

  • I'm getting the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM pretty soon!

  • waiting on battle of the bokah big tele edition

  • Any Chance in COmparing the 70-200mm f/4 and f/2.8 without IS?

  • @ojtothemax i'd rather choose 70-200 F2.8 without IS

  • @KPGLGFK I have the MK II f2.8 IS and after comparing shots with and without the IS switched on... believe me, it's incredible! When you think you are holding the camera steady with IS off and then compare with a stabilized shot there is a huge difference. It's quite clear to me that if choosing non-IS you might as well save a load of money and choose non-L series lens, because you'll never realise the full image capablity of the lens without IS !!

  • @simonsgl Canon 70-200 F2.8 L Non IS, is Good Lens & Also Sharp too... there are so many Good Picts from Canon 70-200 F2.8 Non IS, but when you're comparing between 70-200 F4 L IS and 70-200 F2.8 L Non IS, i'd rather choose 70-200 F2.8 L Non IS

  • @ojtothemax I believe the middle range lens in this vid is the non-IS version... he says so around 3:10

  • At 8:23, one of the photographer isn't a photojournalist rather a hobbyist. He uses a TLR camera. Anyway, good show!

  • Isn't that an f4L IS?

At 1:25 you can se it is written, "image stabilized" on the lens.

I think the upgraded version of f4 isn't just an IS plus, it has different optical construction too.

Just cause I am thinking of buying one of these lens, but the ones i can really afford are the 70-200 f4, f4 is and the f2.8. I think i am going for the f4 for now, it would leave me with the chance of an upgrade when i'll have not just student jobs occasionally...

  • @RezAkos Spot on!! I'm also going for F4, cheapest L lens and great performance.

  • The guy turning around at 8:22 has a TRL! Looks like a Mamiya C330 :o

  • Bokehmon

  • why cant they just be all black

  • @xFRAGxMOVIESx they are white to prevent them from retaining too much heat in sunlight. bigger lens = bigger issue.

  • Fun, informative and entertaining!! Cheers from Norway :)

  • Just got the IS version. This lens is razor sharp n fast!! :)

  • the lady at 2:39 knocked the cops away? I am not try to condescend the cops, rather I solute them for showing great respect to the civilians. Cops act like a real boss on the street in some countries.

  • What does bokeh mean?

  • is 70-200mm f4 IS L lens will work on my eos 1000d?

  • @denz112488 yes!

  • PLEASE DO A NIKON 70-200 VR1 VS VR2.... OR THE NIKON 70-200 VR2 VS CANON 70-200 IS MK2. Thanks!

  • 1.4x vs 2x canon mark II extender !!! pLeAsEEEE

  • As you can see most pros in the video use canon.

  • Compare 70-200 canon vs nikon

  • Are u able to put a tripod collar in the 70-200 f4??

  • hahah the guy is jealous of my lense ><
